  • hey what do you think about the new DDR Miami GT LS1? I heared those are starting at like 40 grand (turnkey) developing 345hp@ the ridiculously low curb weight of 800kg/1088lbs. it´s entirely made of kevlar, carbon, aluminium and glass fiber resulting in that astonishingly low curb weight. the negative aspect is it looks like a wannabe Mclaren F1. anyways - if you heared about em - would you consider em a big rival for the GTM? cheers

  • this is like a Ford GT and a Vette together

  • @Sbermann91 when u say porsche which porsche exactly carrera 911? and what about the tranny? im thinking about building one. also how do i go about having on the title 07 and up year wise does it depend on what year u bought the kit or does come automatically as mso from factory? thanks

  • @hdidane00 can u slap the newer z06 engine in it with same components?

  • @hdidane00 The mark 2 GTM is designed with the LS7 in mind, so yes.

  • @hdidane00 The transmission is the G50 from a 911. Title year depends on your state and how they determine the year of build for a special construction vehicle. It may be assessed on the year the build is finished and registered for road use, but other states go further in order to determine an emissions-standard year for annual testing purposes. What state are you in?

  • @scaryGTM NJ do u know how they determine that here?

  • @hdidane00 NJ is not a 'SEMA'-state which means you cannot get kit cars titled or smog-exempted based on the year they resemble - as you can in states with SEMA enacted legislation.... BUT it's not a big deal for you since you're building a modern, non-replica. NJ just considers kit cars 'Reconstructed Vehicles' and they are titled according to year built then tested for emissions based on the year of the motor. Be meticulous about collecting receipts; you will need them for a VIN etc

  • @scaryGTM that's exactly what i want to know do they base it on year of motor which will obviously be 01-06 motors of a z06 or the year it was built cuz i need a title that says 07 and up for export purposes. obviously i cant build it myself cuz i dont have neither the time nor the knowledge n energy. any reputable shops that can do a good job for an affordable price?

  • @hdidane00 It appears that in NJ, the Title will be based on year built, and emissions based on engine year. It may be necessary to own the car and reach a certain mileage in the US before your import country will accept the vehicle as a personal import rather than a commercial import, but it depends where you are importing it. Whitby Motorcars in NC, USA are a British-owned company which build GTMs. I have no idea what they charge. It may be more than the guy here. Why not ask him?

  • @hdidane00 If someone is building a GTM for you, expect to pay at least 65,000 USD for a fairly basic one. 45-50k is a self-build price, and that includes painting it yourself.

  • @AllForTheGame You drone on and on about the intangiable.... 'quality' - that 'certain something' which doesn't do what it's supposed to do for a Ferrari - and that's win races. Yet still you yearn for it. You are the company's wet dream - if you can ever afford one - that is.

  • @AllForTheGame It's you who is the stupid one my friend. I've explained the rules of excellence in racing performance - Honda Civics/street cars are not racing cars; they do not have racing car chassis' or racing car configurations - unlike the GTM, SLC and many others.... moron. Proof of the pudding is in the eating, and your school-boy wishes for a fantastical badge are as far off as the Enzo is in Car & Drivers track test. Dream on and buy into the badge-makers fallacy.

  • @AllForTheGame "The same shit anyone could build from home". Hilarious. 'Anyone' can't build a GTM; if you tried, you'd know that! I guess in your world 'quality' is dictated by expensive materials and build techniques that do not specifically create a performance edge. That's fine, but in the race car world, 'spartan' is racing car pure because it really is all about competitive performance, and 'quality' - as you define it - isn't worth a shit because it doesn't win races.

  • @scaryGTM then what makes the car so special then if its just a space frame, fiber glass body and a corvette engine? hell thats not enough to be able to compare it to a ferrari. the enzo has a monocoque chassis which is stronger and lighter then a space frame, has a carbon fiber body which is 30 percent lighter then fiberglass, has a v12 thats obv better then a corvette v8. And the advanced racing technology in an enzo makes the gtm look like a fetus. Quality of an enzo is 10 fold that of a gtm.

  • @AllForTheGame The carbon fiber body being 30% lighter than fiberglass is for what reason? To win races of course; which it doesn't against 2300 lb cars with fiberglass bodies. You see, your definition of 'quality' is still based on speed, yet you seem to be suggesting that it is something more than speed. Why is a V12 better than a V8 - regardless of the car it comes from? Answer it isn't. The bottom line again is power, performance and the winning edge. "Quality" aka snobbery.

  • @AllForTheGame A Rolls Royce is universally known as a 'quality' ride, yet it won't win races - but that's okay because it wasn't designed to. If Ferrari uses 'quality' via expensive production materials/methods, that's fine.... BUT if none of these further the marque to the become the best of the best in terms of what Ferrari is famous for - winning races - then Ferrari ultimately betrays its winning heritage and has more in common with a Rolls Royce than a true race car.

  • are you in the vancouver washington area??

  • you guys are stupid if you think its better then a ferrari...the thing isnt even carbon fiber its fiberglass. SMH

  • @AllForTheGame What is the carbon fiber doing for you when your track times are not as good as a legitimately faster car (according to C&D)? Anyone will tell you that the body is the most disposable part of a racing car - fiberglass or carbon fiber. The GTM is built to go faster, & do so cheaper. Its chassis is as fine a race-car chassis as you will find. To most ordinary people who are forced to prioritize efficient design performance over exclusive badge snobbery, what's better?

  • @scaryGTM lol track time. yea and i guess a track honda civic would be considered better then a ferrari enzo if that was the case. an enzo beats out a gtm in every category of a car especially quality. Like i said how could you think a gtm is better then a ferrari when its not even made out of carbon fiber which is 30 percent lighter then fiberglass. And the kit is of horrible quality, anyone looking to build this car would have to do alot of bondo work and fitting. SMH

  • @AllForTheGame You say a lot but very little. A GTM can be built with quality in mind but if you are more interested in status/badges/price tags than actual track performance then more power to you. Whether it's a GTM, an RCR Superlite, or an Ultima GTR, an individual can build-in quality and have a race car for way less than the price of a new badge. BTW, the GTM package just keeps on getter better and your 'bondo' remark is now further off than ever before.

  • @scaryGTM Well played.

  • @GrandMasterKolbasa Thanks!

  • i saw one today and i was like wth is that!?!

  • this car is all around amazin

  • Absolutely beautiful. I'd take one of these over a Ferrari or any super car any day.

  • corection 0 to 100 in 6 seconds

  • 0 to 60 in 6 seconds

  • WEAK! I'd smoke that car in my prius! how u ask?!

race from LA to San Francisco and you gotta do it in one tank of gas....

you might have a bigger motor, but I got car pool sticker baby oh yeah!

  • I would love to see these GTMs supercharged.

  • @GrandMasterKolbasa In reality, adding a supercharger to most GTMs is over-the-top; certainly for those with anything more than a 400Hp LS6.

  • @scaryGTM Hahaha... there goes your conservative side speaking! Many would say that a GTM in itself is "over-the-top". I say a beautiful car like the GTM with obscene horsepower would make it even more of a super-car. (Provided the car/set-up could handle the extra HP a supercharger could provide.)

  • @GrandMasterKolbasa Hmmm.... driving one with significant power from a crate motor certainly gives you a conservative perspective. Even Dave Smith said that a stock LS7 took it from scary fast to a little too much. And 'Car & Driver' promoted a conservative attitude when approaching the GTM with approx 500 Hp. Sure, 'too much is never enough' in horsepower stakes.... or is it?

  • @scaryGTM The term "super car" is stretched these days IMO. There better be some serious engineering (eg. weight/power ratios/AWD) if a person owns a 500 HP "super" car. Kids with Kenne Bell SC's strapped into Mustangs are cranking 500 HP outside their high schools. Personally, I think the power created in TT/SC cars is too much for street usage. Anyone wanting to flex on a 700 horse tweaked Supra on the streets is just going to kill someone.

  • @GrandMasterKolbasa True. The term 'supercar' is somewhat ambiguous. I think there are certain 'truisms'.... mid-engine, with specific performance/top speed credentials. A mid-engine layout almost necessitates a familiar supercar shape, which reinforces the stereotype. I really don't see tuned front-engine cars as supercars - regardless of their state of tune. The GTM is great because it conforms to the main 'supercar' stereotype, and does so on an achievable budget.

  • @GrandMasterKolbasa ... also, as you suggest, it's relatively easy to produce insane amounts of power from most street racers these days but the question is: is the car balanced - does the power compliment or exaggerate the car? It's tempting to push the envelope with superchargers etc, but knowing roughly where to stop adding power for the set-up you have is almost an art. It's like putting a 400 Hp crate in an old hot rod.... theoretically fun, but not usable with old tech.

  • do you think the gtm is on the same standard as a koniggsegg also? your a joke man. your opinion is biased and cant even be taken seriously just due to your screen name.

  • @AllForTheGame My opinion can be taken seriously because I drive a car which drives like a supercar. Just how seriously can anyone take someone who can't differentiate between a 'gutted-out' Honda Civic, and many different spartan track racers. You do not show the slightest sign of knowing what you are talking about - no least because of your Honda Civic comment. Grow-up and learn a thing or two about racing cars instead of focusing on poster cars on school-boy bedroom walls.

  • @AllForTheGame My credibility is being questioned by a dude who can't differentiate between a tuned street Civic and a properly-configured racing car.... oh, and also a guy who thinks his own negatively biased view of the GTM is more credible than Car & Drivers'? Sorry guy, it's you who is the joke.

  • what LS engine is in this GTM?

  • Wow, watching this I can see some pretty awesome performance. Now the driver(s) just need to sign up for a couple track days to learn how to utilize that performance. It's super fun, greatly informative, and highly recommended.

Who knows, maybe all that performance could be harnessed to stay in the proper lane lol = )

  • gfhyjkzuk,ytujkffrhmgfxmkgtj,

  • xfgtjyrhkxjgt.xzk.

  • God Bless America! Still Kings of the Road!

  • I PREFER ENZO !!! AND PREFER F40.F50.599.458....GTO...XJ220...ZONDA....EB110....959.....

  • @DEVASTATOR478 you are aware that most of the cars in ur list cost near as makes no difference 1 million dollars right?

  • I got excited when I saw this kit was only $20,000 but then i realized I need to buy a corvette too...

  • @debater96 You'd be surprised how cheap you could get a junked, early C5 vette for, but it'll take a bit of searching on your part. 45k or thereabouts for a self-built GTM using as much as possible from the junked vette will seem like a complete bargain when you first drive it, and remember, it won't cost an arm and a leg to repair/service/maintain, which is what people forget when they buy a slower, used Ferrari for the same money.

  • how much HP???

  • Wait this isnt Tico airport is it?

  • @FreakyKing2 is that in titusville FL?

  • its all corvette components besides the porshe tranny. and yes it is faster than the enzo and its hard for me to say that cause ferraris are my favorite. But im glad to see an american car puttin up the numbers thats a road car and not a racecar. Factory five did an amazing job. ive been tryin to get my parents to get the generation 2 cause the price

  • nice color. did you order that paint from the factory, or did you paint at another shop after assembly?

  • @skiraf no it was custom and sprayed after the build

  • What's not to like, like the wide stance the best.

  • how bout a small block ford

  • Is the 3sec 0-60 time with an LS6 or LS7 build?

  • looks like a choped GT40

  • no it is i clocked my friends

  • Looks like Masaratti MC12 and Ford GT had an illegitimate child.

  • @PiPzPK good luck buying one for 20K

  • @kleinerooie this one is sold, but can build you one

  • @Fastlanecustomrides how much u sold it for just curious

  • faster than an enzo? maybe in a strait line...

  • @mynock05 Exactly, would be nowhere on a track.

  • @robseven7 Don't know about that... check out "Eddie Griffin ferrari Enzo Crash", my Toyota Yaris has better handling...

  • @mynock05 on the 200 skid pad it was recorded bt Road & Track @ 1.05G's same as the enzo

  • @Fastlanecustomrides 1.05g's is nothing by todays standards

  • @mynock05 it is in a 200 skid pad

  • @mynock05 The Enzo isn't even that good for the price you pay.

  • @mynock05 Considering it's a tube frame chassis, I wouldn't be remotely surprised if it was faster on just about any track...

  • @DeathMetalKillsEmos i wouldnt be remotely surprised if it blew up from being built by a redneck

  • @mynock05 Oh geeze, you've watched a few too many episodes of Top Gear huh? Don't take it personally or anything, just saying Ferraris are cool and stuff but they severely underperform for the price. This car will take a Ferrari any day if it's done right.

  • @DeathMetalKillsEmos wtf is top gear? its a POS car. period. ferraris are better than anything else on the road

  • @mynock05 HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Ok, lol, that's kewl if you think that. Just trying to bring you back to reality, that's all :-). "Check out the GTM Supercar- Ferrari Club videos."

  • @DeathMetalKillsEmos suck my dick first

  • @DeathMetalKillsEmos I'm curious, what do you drive??

  • @Fastlanecustomrides I drive a Mitsu Evo IX. Why do you ask?

  • @mynock05 ferraris are for people with money to brag how much then spent on a car does not perform for the money they spend!

  • @mynock05 Yea.... Factory Five sell a lot of their top quality kits to skilled, car-building rednecks.

  • @mynock05 The GTM is not inferior to an Enzo even in corners. Ferrari doesn't have an exclusive bid on engineering excellence. Drive a GTM and drive an Enzo.... the only difference that'll be important will be the money you'd waste or save - depending on whether a badge is important to you or not. People don 't seem to understand that the GTM is not like many 'average' kit cars, it's a FULLY researched/designed race car for the road; it merely uses some of the Corvette C5's excellent parts.

  • @mynock05 do your research, its been tested by R&T it ties or beats the enzo in a few tests

  • I'm building one and im putting a supercharged S.B. 355 in it i had to chage some stuff for the motor mounts but theres a company that make the adaptor for the porsche transaxle

  • How long did you have to wait to receive the kit from the time you ordered it?

  • Beautiful car

  • nice car

  • That looks like Florida to this Cracker.

  • why would u wanna sell it... its a beast!

  • @mickelsk8er It is a beast, but I build and sell them

  • you will more likely be in the 50-55k range and over 750hrs it will take you over 200 to strip the corvette down it is not just the engine you are going to need

  • hey it was my 13 yr old son behind the camera

  • i wonder if you could buy a new engine off JEGS as long as the mounts line up or you are up to building the mounts

  • yes you can LS1,3,6,7 etc can mount up. what would be really nice is the new LS9

  • that thing is huge

  • thanks

  • does it have power steering?

  • i think it would have to with all of that power. probably be an electrical pump not the mechanical that runs off the engine

  • no power steering but can be added. turns pretty easy considering the front tire size.... don't forget this car only weights 2300 lbs or so

  • driving it around. do you desire power steering?

  • @StarsMarsRadio no, not really. just when parking it becomes noticeable

  • @Fastlanecustomrides Can't imagine anyone wanting power steering after they've driven one without.... it's an unnecessary addition. If anything, better brakes.....

  • how much?

  • this one is sold they start at 62k turn key

  • hey carjudah, yes we can add storage area in front and in back of the drivers seat. looking to do a right hand drive GTM. If anybody is interested in a right hand drive contact me

  • yo, the web for this kit says 20 grand, what other parts do i need to finish it?

  • there are alot of parts g-50 trans, cv joints, starter, clutch assy, a c-5 donor car, supplies, fluids, freight, and alot of little things that are not listed. and it all depends on the quality of the finished product you will get.

  • OH MY GOD!!!! Awsome car for waaaay less than anything out of Italy. Plus I read that you can put the new 505hp motor from the Z06 in (if your that crazy). Wonder if the 630hp ZR1 will fit. Does anybody know if these cars have a trunk or storage space of any kind? Just wandering.

  • carljudah if you want a LS9 ZR1 engine it it we can make it happen for you..

  • @carljudah when it comes to custom work, any thing is possible if you show the cash! you want a LS9 you can get one. you want storage..no problem!! endless possibilities...

  • @Fastlanecustomrides should put the Ford GT engine in there an slap some turbo's oon. i think that those engines w/ turb put out about 1200 HP on pump gas. race fuel about 1500. the guys at henessey made the Ford GT do a standing mile with twins at about 269.6 mph. of course, it's custom. so not worlds fastest prod. car.... =( factory five gtm's, GT-40's and Gumball 3000 is my grown up life... hopefully..... -- 13 year old boy...

  • @carljudah You can put a LS9 in it........if you want to spend an extra $20,000

  • @FreakyKing2 as far as i know you actually cant put in an ls9, as you have to flip the intake manifold

  • The car is truly unique and the acceleration is very impressive. Your GTM is in the same category as the Enzo, GT 40 and other supercars, but at a fraction of the cost. Just from the looks and sound of the car it demands respect from all other notable superior makes in the industry. Who wouldnt want to own one? I know, I wish I could. GREAT CAR!!!!!

  • I like that.. sounds and looks awesome. I wish I could afford one

  • impressive!

  • Great Car. sounds Awesome!
