戦艦大和が世に姿を現した頃にはすでに巨艦巨砲の時代ではなくな­っていた。ちなみにその時代の幕引きをし、新しい時代の戦い方を­実践して見せたのが日本のゼロ戦による真珠湾攻撃であることは実­に皮肉な話である。戦艦大和は遅れて出てきた時代遅れの巨艦とい­う一種の哀愁を帯びているため、どこか心に引っかかる日本人にと­って忘れ去ることのできないものがある。

実際の戦艦大和、沈んで機関室に海水入り込んだ瞬間、水蒸気爆発­起こして沈んでしまう前にたぶんバラバラになってますよね。

・・・・・日本の感情が具現化されたフォトと言うことで。

well u know it isn't bad i mean hey i got the Yamato/Argo built and on a shelf the first Black tiger fighter and now i'm working on my 2nd verson of the Black Tiger fighter .Me i'm pushing 50 myself and to this day if and when i can i still watch Space Cruiser Yamato/Star Blazers it let's u escape reality for a half hour

They really, really, really need to do an updated version of the series to take advantage of the latest CGI animation technologies and techniques, as well as slip in some really cool Earth Defense Force battleships based upon some other equally famous dreadnoughts from history... Space Battleship Richelieu, Space Battleship Iowa, and Space Battleship Prince of Wales anyone? Come here, Dethler! We got yer galaxy-spanning empire right here! BWAHAHAAHAAHAA!!!>;D

I agree, an updated version of the series would be fantastic! I live about a half hour's drive from the U.S.S. Massachusetts. I wouldn't mind seeing her become part of the fleet, too!

I don't usually coment on videos, but Star Blazers (a.k.a Yamato) stirs so many emotions for me. Like many, I grew up with this series and I have to agree with Erik and Mauricio; Yamato represents an honor, dignity, bravery and hope that is so sorely need today. However, a part of me wants Yamato to remain as it is, a part of my memory. It is a indescribably beautiful piece of creativity that I would not wish the current world to ever taint.

@GlascoeT My words exactly! The Yamato is the most beautiful spaceship ever conceived, and the series will forever be in my heart as an era gone by. If there's one thing that can make a grown man cry, it's the Space Battleship Yamato series.

No anime series in the past, present or in the next future generations to come will ever remotely come close to Star Blazers. It is one of the very few unique gems of Japanese Anime. It is truly a masterpiece, a legend in its own right, a work of art unparalled, way ahead of its time. It will remain immortalized in the heart & souls of countless dedicated & loyal fans like myself. To bad they don't make them like this anymore.

@MauricioCasteglione I share your feelings too Mauricio. I was under 20 yrs old when I first saw Star Blazers in Italy. Today I am 50 yrs old and I am not ashamed to say that to this day, it still makes me cry everytime I hear it buddy and it gives me goose bumps and chills. It splits my soul right down the middle.

@ErikRuggeri Thanks for your words. This series, as the Yamato battleship, causes me complicate feelings. Perhaps Yamato represents to me some sort of honor and beauty that we do not see anyone else. And it´sad because he was destroyed merciless. This series shows us a secret never told: That we would wish to see this leviatan rise again, as a Phenix. He could, perhaps, bring our youth back.

If there ever was a need to raise a ship to save our mother Earth, and without taking sides, I would personally choose the Yamato without a doubt. I mean no disrespect to the other great war time battleships of that era and to the many people who lost their lives.

@MauricioCasteglione The Yamato is an icon in its own right. Yes, Yamato represents a sort of honor and beauty, that is sadly long forgotten. I guess deep down inside, many of us like you feel and wish that this leviathan would rise again as a Phoenix like you say. Star Blazers has certainly brought back my youth, and you can count on it for sure. I have been blessed to have seen this masterpiece of Japanese anime.
