  • A quantum leap is defined as the smallest possible leap.

  • @SpeakMouthWords No you are wrong. Google "define quantum leap" and you will get:

a sudden large increase or advance; "this may not insure success but it will represent a quantum leap from last summer".

  • @straffsats A quantum leap is when the principle quantum number of a bound electron changes, resulting in an expulsion of energy from the atom or molecule. These transitions are often on the scale of the Rydberg, which is about 10^-18 joules. Pretty small. I'm aware there's a popular saying that defines a quantum to leap to be large, but I guess what I'm saying is oh god stop no mercy please don't use that horribly horribly incorrect phrase.

  • @SpeakMouthWords I'm actually a PhD in theoretical physics so the physics discussion is not necessary. A "quantum" only means package thus implying that a quantum leap is an "all at once" process, i.e. not continuous. Just because something has the word "quantum" in it does not mean that it has to have anything to do with quantum physics. The term quantum leap does not have an intrinsically size but the english speaking concensus is that it is large!!

  • @straffsats This is such a silly discussion. I'm a physics student too, btw, nice to meet you! I think you are breaking the word down too much. As a scientific idiom, "quantum leap" is used as a substitute for "atomic electron transition". If you meant a non-continuous leap, you'd use the phrase "quantised leap" or "discrete jump". At least I would, if I wasn't referring to quantum physics. English is my mothertongue too, for what it's worth.

  • @SpeakMouthWords Hehe yeah, lets forget about it!

  • @straffsats *tips hat*

  • @SpeakMouthWords @straffsats ...Well guys. Not to one-up you both, but I called up Scott Bakula ( yeah, the star of Quantum Leap ) and he told me it's OK the way I used it.

  • @hob976 lol shut up content creator what do you even know, we are the clearly omniscient obnoxious youtube commenters and you are just the guy who provided us with 12 minutes of solid information and insight for free. I think we both know who's more important here

  • @SpeakMouthWords ...*also tips hat*

  • are that some binaural beats in the background?

  • jeeepers creepers, ya think?

  • @Underbird, We are the most aggressive country on the planet. We have been killing people including women and children in their own countries in different parts of the world nonstop since WW2. We are the blood and natural resource thirsty invaders no matter how much we try to justify our actions. I love this country but we have strayed from the path of our founders and we are exactly what they despised.

  • excellent video. Deserves a 1 Million views!

  • Thanks Brad Newmann. Great Presentation

  • Thank you!

  • Beautiful. Very well presented.

  • so how many dots would a nuclear device delivered by Iran take out? Not every government responds with reason to a non-aggressive people.

  • @underbird You need to look up what the non-aggression principle is....

  • Collectivist class warfare disguised as individualism.

  • A masterwork!

  • This dot is getting fed up with too much interference. Fuck you nanny state.

  • Nice
