  • what a beautiful aviary with beautiful birds inside! :)

  • Dogs!! :) I usually don't feed them much outside and what I do is fresh. I wash it away with the hose if the dogs don't eat it first. I have never had a rat problem outside.

  • i had my parrots outside like this at one time. how do you keep the rats away?

  • awesome! lucky birds :)

  • Great job you did! Your birds are beautiful and happy!

  • I have not had any problems! The don't sit and chew oN it either though. I've heard so many different things on what we can or shouldn't use. They are only out there if we are so they are not in there aLL the time. Good luck!

  • Birds look great! Do you worry about the galvanized metal as much as they use their beaks to move around. We have 7 parrots and I want to build an outdoor aviary as a sort of a day room. It's easy to find galvanized panels but the zinc coating is toxic and removal is iffy at best. I hear of others using it but afraid to roll the dice with birds health. What are your thoughts.

  • Cool

  • We actually made it. It is just a 6x6 dog kennel not chain link, but galvanized steel. We used a 5th panel to put on the roof. We mad a "roof: with 2x4 & fiberglass, and just set it on top.

I have a HUGE willow tree that cracked during a wind storm so i used the branches from that to make perches!

  • @havafordwnachevy A great way to reuse natures resources I personally prefer this vs. buying Manzanita and Java Perches and not just because Its free. Remember that not all tree wood/bark is safe for them though. These guys chew alot and have explorative minds and this is what more owners should do for them. They look beautiful and happy. Great job!

  • where did you get this aviary? I am looking for one for my cockatoo and love how you have yours arranged! Very nice!

  • i wish i can meet tiko and tonka

    and hi aunt sindy

  • it's wonderful to see these amazing birds in big aviary! Good job!

We are planning on building one soon)
