BMW will soon release an M performance version of the 3 series that will exactly compete with the Audi S5. The S5 has no equivalent from BMW at the moment.

Too be honest, the video is fair. But there are a lot of factors, that go into it more than just hp and torque. Audi won fair and square in this video. However look up more comparisons and the results differ. Sometimes the 335 sometimes the s4, one way or another both are awesome cars.
Driven both cars...the all-the-time 4 wheel drive on the S4 made the turning radius feel wider while the 335 Xdrive felt quicker. Why is it that the auto makers continuosly try to compare their cars to the BMW? That snow-ball commercial with the Lexus is just one example of the "wanna-be" car makers trying to catch up with the BMW. It just isn't going to happen anytime soon. Stay with the BMW!

@colinmoriarty Audi work on a different philosophy to BMW. That is the real difference between AUDI/BMW so comparing them will always be one philosophy versus another. Supercharged Engines have advantages and disadvantages as do Turbocharged engines. These cars were made to compete with each other. Audi Philosophy wins on this occasion.

The new S range Audis will have the same Engines as Bentley! Understated class. Audi make their own parts and do manufacture cars worthy of beating BMW/Merc/lex.

the way Audi meant to compete in this class
RS5 is based on the A5, which is also based on the A4 platform and both the M3 and the RS5 are coupes
For now, at least, the s4 takes the lead
It will be the benchmark for the new 3 series
Like it or not, BMW will build the 3 with these standards in mind

it would be a whole different story if they compared the s4 to the m3. if it was just the a4 vs the 335i the bmw would win. so dont compare a tuned up version of the a4 to a regular 335i and make it almost even with m3 vs s4 because the m3 would definitely win.

I'd take the S4 over the 335i anyday! The Audi just looks sleek and sexy, not to mention the S4 looks good in ANY color. The BMW just looks plain and outdated, not much happening there. Not to mention that the majority of BMW drivers are women and douchebags. The Audi wins my heart here.

audi smokes all bmw cars except for high output m vehicles... perhaps. The C7 S6 will probably be a very good rival to the monstrosity that is the new m5. All in all, though, Audi is still the better player. BMW might have more power, but quattro is better than xdrive, and interiors? We all know Audi is better. Design/ BMW still has one of the most conservative designers out there. They need to appeal to younger crowds and have better interior and exterior design.

Bad comparison. S4 is somewhere between the M3 and 335i. 335is or 335i with power upgrade would be a much better comparison. It would also be better to have the x-drive version of the 3-series.

illl admit that i am a bmw fanboy although i love audi's new styles! i think that the bmw's are starting to look like accords if you ask me... and this is from a diehard bmw fan. they killed it after the e34 m5 and it's gotten worse from then on (subjective)
anyways, the m seris is bmw's performance line.... the best of the best. and yeah, oh wait, the S'x' series is audi's performance line! wait! that means that they are in the same category!!! Sorry if i hurt your audi feelings :]

@jlcool007 ummm, have you never heard of "RS" line? THAT is performance line. S line is sports line. You don't compare cars on their names, you do it on their power and characteristics. Even look at the price comparison. RS is in M category, because BMW don't have anything above M, but Audi does above S. Think a little, fanboy.
