dude, the only reason the bible stoped the bullet is couse its so thick and not couse of you christian calls `the shield god gave me´ hes fake, so stop it, you dont know physics, its couse its so thick and full of inc and so on, so it cant penetrate it, so if you get shot in the chest with a bible there stoping it its not `the shield of god´. its physics.
@AllaBader01 I've said this 5 times today "Many weapons around the world identified as AK-47s are more likely to be AKMs or foreign made copies" wikipedia. Damn you CoD, teaching children false information.
Mythbusters are wrong there are many documented incidents where zippos have stopped bullets in fact the mythbusters are wrong on more than one occasion like when they said that only miniguns could take down a tree with bullets even though the history channel did it with a British vickers machine gun.
@scouser96100 There are other scenarios where I believe it to be possible. These shots were all straight into the surface at a 90° angle. Change that to 45° and maybe a bullet would deflect (but not be stopped) by a Zippo or other object. (I've heard of large coins, cigarette cases, etc.) I don't think anyone suggests they are adequate protection, most of the examples I've heard were just pure, dumb luck that the person survived.
@scouser96100 well there's alot of factors dude, distance, caliber, wind u name it, technically a hair can "stop" a bullet if the conditions are right.
what about the 9mm didn't even use that as a round. it would of been more realistic if they would of. cause more ppl use 9 mm then a 357 mag. like if u agree
ummm, hold up, aren't the mythbusters the guys that said you can shoot through a scope and kill a man while Carlos Norman Hathcock did it in Vietnam and its documented, and a marine had a Zippo in his pocket and it stopped a bullet and it still works?! and a soldier was saved by his bible in WW2 from a sniper's rifle round?! Mythbusters you don't do a good job on research.....
hmm how are they thinking? the book stopped a bullet, but not from all guns, so acording to them a tank isent bullet proof because it wont stop a armor piercing round, everything is relative right?
"it's exactly what they rated it for"..... "you know its not made for a high powered rifle" 30-06 High powered!?.... a product does what the instructions says it does!? holy shit I just been trolled by Hyneman... gunna shoot myself now with my 30-06 cannon
@V00D00T00 Yes, a 30-06 is high-powered. Not compared to a .50BMG or .338 Lapua or something, but those things are just fucking crazy. Even a .243 or 7mm08 is still in the high powered rifle range.
30-06 is one of the original highpower military rifle rounds and is still in wide use today, but mostly by hunters and target shooters. There are three basic ranges of power/cartridge: pistol, intermediate (ie, AK47/M16), highpower (30-06, 8mm, 300 win mag)
@BakuraHeart Check your bible. Does it say anything about "Thou shalt not shoot thine bible with thy handgun"? Actually, does the bible say anything about the bible?
Imperial war museum, London, case 19A, first world war. They have a PENNY that stopped a 7.92 mauser rifle bullet. This is the case from the Green Day video "Bullet in a bible".
Balls. All of it. It all depends on size of round, velocity and range from the shooter. 9mm at 500 yards will be stopped by a wet blanket. I've seen it done. Then there's armour piercing rounds.
@Cormalek or old milsurp soviet 7.62 tokarev with steel core. I am not sure if it would penetrate this, hovewer it is famous for going through body armor... and is a heck a lot cheaper then 5.7 :)
should have done a carbon bladed knife. People that get in gunfights tend to have knives on their person. Books, not so much. Also in the book black hawk down, one of the dudes says his knife stops a round. Pretty sure he was flying a bird tho, so it probably went thru some armor\ aluminum first, but still.... i bet a high carbon blade hit on the right angle would stop some shit.
@TrollFaceMagie your name being TROLLfacemagie i think it quite suits you, i made this acount when i was 10, that was when i only had airsoft guns, and yes i do shoot .44 magnum, every week in fact at my local gun rage.
@mafiagman I think the only reason to use some religion's holy book is to deliberately offend. Why bother? How would it be relevant to the experiment?
There are several levels of armour for varous purposes. There's stab armor (for knives and sharp weapons, there's flak armour (for shrapnel and depris) there's blast armour (for concussive force and explosions) there's pistol armour (most police use and will protect against pistol rounds ((-9mm))) and then there's rifle armour (military, SWAT, protects against rifle rounds ((5.56, 7.62))) No body armour is "bullet PROOF" but they do save lives most of the time.
its fun shootin a 22 haha just like a BB gun hehe. But it was even more fun shootin a 222. mostly used for vermin hunt and bird hunting and so on just like the 22 long rifle
@MrFred2023 The .50 cal. eagle is not the most powerful pistol in the world. Infact, most of the time autos are loaded down a bit from revolver loads so the gun will live longer. "Most" revolvers are stronger than their semi-auto brothers. The .50 eagle is a beast though. I'll keep my Ruger Super red/black hawks in .44 mag.
