One thing I don't understand: why is it necessary to rasterize the picture? It works the same if you don't or am I missing something?

ya i eventually did, finally got it to work...i used it for the new facebook layout profile fix, i youtubed clipping mask, however i should have just youtubed new facebook profile hack lol

@dpdejarme 1) open a new document. 2) enter some text and "rasterize type". 3)open the image you want to display through the text. If it opens up as a background layered locked it opened in a new window and you need to copy it and drag it to the other document. Then convert the image to a smart object and rasterize it. 4) Create a "clipping mask" on the image you inserted into the document, and it should be visible through your text.
