Hey coocoo, i thought japan wasn't more expensive as europe, only the meat was. I stayed in a fair priced hostel in asakusa and public transport was alright as well. I bought most of my stuff (souvenirs, but also bottled drinks and noodles and stuff) in the 100Yen shops, cheap and quite good quality. I so reccomend anyone going to japan. I fell in love with the country right away, probably going back for two weeks in march '08! sugoi!

Hey, I'm planning on going back next spring also! i have two weeks off of work end of april/beg. of may. Not much, but i really miss Japan, so i hope i can make it happen!

Who knows; maybe our paths will cross. My wife, who is Japanese, will be going to Tokyo on the 23rd of August. She's a writer / translator for American/Japanese film companies, i.e. The Ring and Grudge, so she goes over frequently.
