Absolutely horrible right on 1 sound.Sounds like crap and played with no soul AT All!It's not the cheap recorder making you play on 1 all the time. This You Tube stuff is forever don't you guys realize that,or don't care?Where's Dickey?
Nice, i am getting ready to purchase 1 of these today how do you like yours? i checked with gibson the only ones left are what dealers have in stock so i want to add 1 to my collection while they're still available new
Hey man I got a dumb question to ask ya because I have the same guitar as you, only its an Epiphone..
I have no knowledge of how pickups and humbuckers work, but how do I lower the humbuckers on my guitar becuase tightening and loosening the screws doesnt do anything except take the screws out of the box completely....
The one farthest from the neck is almost touching my strings but I can't get it to be lowered and I would rather not pay anyone to fix it if I can do it myself.
@austinabernethy456 the p-90s sound great i always liked them but i believe you would be beter off w/ humbuckers if you are trying to get as close as poss to the allman bros sound, you will also need a marshall head Duane used a 50watt & Dickey not sure prob a 100watt, Warren i believe uses Soldano Head w/ Marshall cab & Derek uses a fender amp from what i remember him saying in an interview, so thats their guitar sounds- but the classic allman sound is def Hums/Marshall head & cab..
This made me laugh quite a bit, and I don't mean this comment to be taken like I posted it with sarcasm. They obviously aren't soap bars, though, it's just a guitar from a long time ago.
hahaha.... i hope your joking. "soapbars" refers to P90 pickups that were a cream color. they looked like bars of soap so they decided to call them soapbar pickups. (they being whoever was the first brand to come out with them)
I don't think the guitar sounds thin at all. It sounds very warm to me. I wish the audio quality of the clip was better.... but I can still hear how nice the guitar sounds.
lovely tone.

gibson didnt take the the fist p 90s thats not there desighn
Leadtheband96 2 years ago
It most certainly is. they did not make the first single coil, of course, but the P90 is a Gibson pickup first and foremost.
They were released into guitars in 1946.

no, really, they are soapbars..... they were standard on the 56 les paul goldtops....
Baltzy24 2 years ago 11
I want to believe you, but I can't imagine how a bar of soap would be used to hold the devices within a pickup.

At teh same time I was a bit dissapointed with the tone of the guitar. It sounds a bit thin to be a P90 guitar?
