  • THE KING JAMES BIBLE WAS PRINTED 16TH CENTURY ENGLISH MORE THAN TWO CENTURIES BEFORE THE "BOOK OF FANTASY MORMON" .....

WHY WAS THE JOSEPH CON-MAN SMITH TRANSLATING THE BOOK OF MORMON IN 16TH CENTURY ENGLISH AND NOT 19TH CENTURY ENGLISH ? ? ?

  • @nonassumsit Holy crap - do you have nothing better to do?? lol Seriously! You've been busy! I don't know why people get so excited when someone tries to explain/defend their faith on Youtube. Like, give the guy a break! Let him say what he wants! I'm a mormon and if a Jew or Catholic or Jehovah's Witness wants to post a video talking about their faith - then all the power to them! Seriously people!!! TO EACH THEIR OWN. PERIOD. No, seriously, PERIOD.

  • The Authorized King James Version is an English translation of the Christian Holy Bible begun in 1604 and completed in 1611 by the Church of England. MAKE A VIDEO ABOUT HOW THE "BOOK OF MORMON" WAS TRANSLATED IN, and is written in 16th century English...who knew that "reformed Egyptian" would translate nicely into archaic English

THEY DIDN'T EVEN SPEAK 16TH CENTURY ENGLISH IN 1830....

SO WHY THEN IS "CON-MAN JOSEPH SMITH" USING 16TH CENTURY ENGLISH TO TRANSLATE THE BOOK OF MORMON ? ?

  • OH YA ! ! I DON'T WANT TO FORGET TO SAY SINCE I WAS A MEMBER FOR OVER 15 YEARS, THAT THE CHURCH TELLS IT'S MEMBERS TO SUSTAIN FROM ALCHOL, CIGARETTES, AND CAFFEINE, BUT PROBABLE ABOUT 25% TO 30% ARE ON SOME SORT OF PHARMACEUTICAL DRUGS.......

    LIKE;

Vicodin, OxyContin, Xanax, Ambien, Demerol, Percocet, Ritalin, Hydrocodone

I guess believing in "SUPERSTITIONS" is easier when your numb...

  • One thing to remember, I'm NOT trying to PROVE "GAWD" exist, or doesn't or what "GAWD" is, because the evidence of "PROOF" always falls on the one who makes the claim with regards to the existence of "SOMETHING".

I can’t argue with a “belief” example: SANTA CLAUSE, TOOTH FAIRY. You can never be called upon to prove a negative either.

  • What kind of "GOD" requires "faith" instead of evidence? Faith is the excuse people give for believing in something when they don't have evidence.

If you can come up with something that I believe in, and I don’t have evidence for it I’ll stop believing it.

The nature of a rational mind does not believe on something if it lacks evidence

A “fictitious god” expects that you believe without evidence

Beliefs are not justified when there is no evidence

  • Faith and be- Lie -fs" are NOT moral attributes.

Why would you believe anything on “faith”? Faith is NOT a pathway to TRUTH.

Every religion has some sort of “faith”, if “faith” is your pathway, you can’t distinguish between Christianity, Hinduism, Judaism, Mormonism, Catholicism, and others.

How is it you use reason for every endeavor of your life, and then when it comes to the ultimate truth say that “faith” is required?

  • It is written in the bible “prove all things”, when is the last time you prove the bible or when is the last time you proved ‘GOD’?

Faith is like walking in the dark. Virtues are in those things you KNOW, and can PROVE, but FAITH is NOT a virtue.

Faith is a "BLIND GUIDE", religion is a does NOT create a morals.

Faith is like walking in the dark.

  • Santa Clause, Easter Bunny, Gooooooooooooooooooood Tooth Fairy, Boogie man, the GREAT PUMPKIN on Charlie Brown......

  • Yahweh,Aphrodite,Apollo, Atlas, Baal, Dagon, Gaia, Hades, Helios, Iris, Isis, Ishtar, Jesus, Krishna, Osiris, Thor, Zeus or what ever floats your boat.

Pick the myth that is most comfortable to you.

  • RELIGION IS JUST A CON-JOB ON THE MIND! FILLING PEOPLES MIND WITH DILUTIONS!

HEAVEN AND HELL IS HERE ON EARTH! I SEE DEVILS AND ANGELS EVERYDAY. THEY'RE PEOPLE THAT ARE AROUND US EVERY DAY!

  • Think of GOD is like the BOOGIE MAN, like telling kids when they are young to watch out for the BOOGIE MAN. All religion is made up and make believe bullshit brainwashing and delusional thinking, and causes division. When you think about how GOD helped you, you should think about all those people HE didn’t help.

  • Religion is a con that you pull over your own mind.

As a religious person of great faith, you pledge that you put your faith in things that are un-provable, and suspend critical thinking.

  • Religion doesn’t require common sense.

    Religion is fossilized philosophy

I guaranty you can find objectionable beliefs, and things that seem to strain credulity in all religions

The God in the bible allegedly said love your enemies and do good to those who hate you. Why doesn’t your God practice what he preaches?

  • The official name of the Mormon Church today is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Joseph Smith founded it at the age of 24, in the state of New York on April 6, 1830. It was originally named the Church of Christ, and then in 1834 the name was changed to the Church of the Latter Day Saints. In 1838 it received its current name (Doctrine and Covenants, Sec.115:4).

  • I can’t argue with a “belief” example: SANTA CLAUSE, TOOTH FAIRY. You can never be called upon to prove a negative either.

Beliefs is what got people to go along with the war in IRAQ, and not evidence or facts.

Following something on beliefs and faith is dangerous.

  • Religion cannot be taken away from people, it is they’re favorite toy, and will remain so as long as we are afraid of death.

  • I must say that I’m perfectly happy for people to have these toys, and to play with them at home, and keep them to themselves, and share them with those who want to play with they’re toys, but they are not to make me play with they’re toys, don’t bring the toys to my house, don’t say that my children must play with these toys, and don’t tell me my “personal choices” aren’t aloud by they’re toys.

  • In religion beliefs are far stronger than facts.

People in religion live in a fantasy world

PEOPLE IN RELIGION CANNOT THINK FOR THEM SELVES!

  • Imagination is the primary factor for believing there is a “god”

The books of fascination “The BIBLE, The Book of MORMON, KARAN, TORAH, and others” put here by “GOD” to test our “FAITH”

I define “faith” as the excuse people give for believing in something when they don’t have good reason, and I have no use for it at all.

  • Why do you “believe”?

When believing in something the “Why” is important?

“Reason the skeptical application of critical think, the is the evaluation of evidence with respect to standards is the single most reliable path to truth.

“Indoctrination” means that you were brought up in an environment that encouraged a belief without evidence to support it.

  • LOGIC, REASONING, AND CRITICAL THINKING ARE "NOT" REQUIRED ATTRIBUTES IN RELIGION.

FAITH DOES NOT REQUIRE YOU TO HAVE OPEN EYES.

  • There is NO such thing as an external enemy no matter what that little voice is saying inside your head.

All perception of an enemy is a projection of the ego as the enemy. Your greatest enemy is your own inner perception, your own ignorance, and your own ego.

The greatest con is your own ego. People let themselves be controlled by they’re ego.

The only real danger that exists is man himself, he is the great danger, and he is unaware of it. We are the origin of all coming evil.

  • REALLY YOU HAVE "FIRST HAND KNOWLEDGE" OF THAT?

    YOU WERE THERE?

WHY EVEN TRY TO EXPLAIN A SUBJECT MATTER, WHEN YOU FINISH UP STATING; "YOU SHOULD GO FIND SOME REAL SCHOLAR, HISTORIAN, AND REAL RESEARCH.

BASICALLY IS TO FIND OUT THE "TRUTH", IS GO FIND THE OPINIONS.

YOU OBVIOUSLY HAVE NOT READ AND OF THE "QUOTES" BY BRIGHAM YOUNG, WHEN HE ALLEGEDLY SAID, "IF ANYONE MIXES WITH A BLACK PERSON IS DEATH ON THE SPOT" !

YOU REALLY ARE A DECEIVER AND SHOULD TALK ABOUT BLOOD ATONEMENT ! !

  • Your mom was probably 30 years old before they even allowed black people to hold the priesthood, that means for half her life she willingly followed an organization that was clearly racist. Don't forget the church didn't allow black people to hold that until 1979. The only organization more racist than the LDS church is the KKK.

  • No person having the least particle of negro blood can hold the priesthood' (Brigham Young). It does not matter if they are one-sixth negro or one-hundred and sixth, the curse of no Priesthood is the same. If an individual who is entitled to the priesthood marries a negro, the Lord has decreed that only spirits who are not eligible for the priesthood will come to that marriage as children. To intermarry with a negro is to forfeit a 'nation of priesthood holders"

    -Mark E. Peterson (Apostle)

  • This guy seems like a nice guy, most mormons are,but as a christian i see alot of beating around the hush.mormons really dont know where they stand on alot of issues.

is any mormon willing to accept the fact that maybe the church is not true??

no,they will just make excuses until the end.

  • @jj3dartist

I am black. I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for over 32 years. My wife, white, a Latter Day Saint for over 40 years,, and I look back on 30 years of happy married life...The religious marriage was performed in a Temple of the Church, where my wife and I were sealed together for time and for eternity. We have children and grandchildren. Many LDS married couples I know have different racial background.I hope this answers your question..

  • i never see interracial marriages. why? You mormon allow white person and black person to get married?

  • Your knowledge on this subject is limited probably because of your age. Blacks were always allowed to hold the LDS priesthood. I can give you names.

  • @BornAgainstMormons Its funny you would somehow have this "knowledge" that they always were allowed to hold the priesthood, when Gordon B. Hinckley himself didn't (A "prophet" lest a remind you).... Please just look at the evidence. Gordon B. Hinckley couldn't understand why the past was the way it was, he always wanted to say that "it's behind us". He was away of the issues, so quit trying to say that it never existed.

  • @paulbunyan2435 You apparently don't want names? You only want to lecture me on something you know little to nothing about? Quoting bits and pieces of an interview does not reality make.

  • And I also think that you will bless the lives of others- undoubtedly. I have a hard enough time just going to visit teach those who are inactive and worrying about if I really taught them something or if I blessed their lives in any way that I was fit to do so. You are against the world on these videos! Literally! You explain things very well. Really, good job.

  • You did a wonderful job explaining. You are very straightforward and informative in your videos. Thanks!

  • Thank you for taking the time to post this most informative and well-researched video. You are such a great example of the quality of people that belong to this church. I hope you can ignore the haters, don't give them a voice. I learned so much from you and have been a life long member of the church. I found your link on LDS Living. I hope to watch all your videos.

  • Very well done. Thanks so much for providing an educated and thoughtful answer to this question. I appreciate what you are doing. There needs to be more education about the mormon church out there, and I appreciate you taking your time to provide that. Thanks!

  • Thank you so much for doing your research and taking the time to articulate such a difficult topic. You did a fabulous job! I would recommend this to any friends or neighbors who would like to better understand this issue. Keep up the good work! Thus far, the negative comments you have received are just proof that the world needs more education regarding these matters, so keep them coming! I'm waiting to see more!

  • Kudos goes to you for addressing a difficult topic. I would highly recommend a book by this Southern Baptist raised black convert who wrestled at great length with these very policies of the past concerning Blacks and the Priesthood. He tells his own journey with honesty and candor in his autobiography "Last Laborer: Thoughts and Reflections of a Black Mormon" by Keith N. Hamilton.

  • Excellent !!! . :)) !!!

  • Firstly, I do not belong to any church, therefore I am not accountable for any Christian church. I am a follower of Jesus Christ and a worshipper of the Creator. You on the other hand, are a schill for the LDS church and therefore, any and everyone has every right to hold you accountable for your affiliation with that church, especially when you attempt to excuse your church's racist past by blaspheming the Creator...You are implying in this video that God may just have sanctioned racism.

  • God didn't let this ban stand, your racist leaders did. This alone should let you know that your prophets are fake, yet you excuse it by blaspheming God..As far as blacks being LDS...stop pointing to self-hating blacks to excuse your racism. There were blacks who sided with their slave-masters during slavery, that didn't justify slavery, and these loathesome blacks certainly cannot justify your false church. There were also Jews who policed their own people in Nazi ghettos. I stil hate nazism!

  • Well, I have a couple of things to say here:

It's funny that you completely missed the whole point of the video, which was to be open-minded, to study and research the issue, and to stifle intolerance and hate towards Mormons. You obviously haven't studied the sources I've provided, and are only interested in throwing hate speech my way. How ironic.

  • You say you are a Christian, and then have the audacity to compare me to a Nazi for all my “racist religious history”. Are you aware of the racist religious history of mainstream Christianity in this country? Do you want to hold me accountable for my history while escaping accountability for your own?

  • Mormons never taught that black people didn’t have souls; Christians did. Mormons never taught that black people were animals, property, or sub-human; Christians did. Mormons never taught that black people were incapable of repentance, being saved, or unworthy of grace. Mormons never taught that it was blasphemy for a black person to worship Jesus Christ; many Christians did.

  • Mormons never built separate meetinghouses or taught that blacks should not worship with white people. Mormons never taught that black people were unworthy to pray or read scriptures in public. Mormons never taught hat black people couldn’t go to heaven.

Mormons never taught that black people were brutes or possessed by demons.

  • Mormons never lynched black people. Mormons never used the Bible to justify slavery. Mormons never kicked black people out of their churches or made them stand or sit in the back. You don’t have things like Birmingham and Littlerock going on among the Mormons. Should I go on, because I could list about 20 more things? Hopefully I’ve made my point.

  • Keep in mind that virtually all the racism that existed in Mormonism consisted merely of black people not being able to participate in the clergy, that’s it. You want to talk racism? Take a look at your own history.

  • @thatmormonboy Brigham Young said

"I say now, when they [his discourses] are copied and approved by me they are as good Scripture as is couched in this Bible . . . " (Journal of Discourses, vol. 13, p. 264; see also p. 95).

  • @thatmormonboy Brigham Young said

"I know just as well what to teach this people and just what to say to them and what to do in order to bring them into the celestial kingdom...I have never yet preached a sermon and sent it out to the children of men, that they may not call Scripture. Let me have the privilege of correcting a sermon, and it is as good Scripture as they deserve. The people have the oracles of God continually." (Journal of Discourses, vol. 13, p. 95).

  • B Y said

"You see some classes of the human family that are black, uncouth, uncomely, disagreeable and low in their habits, wild, and seemingly deprived of nearly all the blessings of the intelligence that is generally bestowed upon mankind....Cain slew his brother. Cain might have been killed, and that would have put a termination to that line of human beings. This was not to be, and the Lord put a mark upon him, which is the flat nose and black skin." (J of D, vol. 7, p. 290

  • Brigham Young said,

"In our first settlement in Missouri, it was said by our enemies that we intended to tamper with the slaves, not that we had any idea of the kind, for such a thing never entered our minds. We knew that the children of Ham were to be the "servant of servants," and no power under heaven could hinder it, so long as the Lord would permit them to welter under the curse and those were known to be our religious views concerning them." (Journal of D, vol. 2, p. 172).

  • @thatmormonboy Brigham Young said, "Shall I tell you the law of God in regard to the African race? If the white man who belongs to the chosen seed mixes his blood with the seed of Cain, the penalty, under the law of God, is death on the spot. This will always be so." (Journal of Discourses, vol. 10, p. 110).

  • @thatmormonboy Apostle Mark E. Petersen "Now WE ARE GENEROUS WITH THE NEGRO. WE ARE WILLING that the Negro have the highest kind of education. I WOULD BE WILLING to LET every Negro DRIVE A CADILLAC IF THEY COULD AFFORD IT. I WOULD BE WILLING that they have all the advantages they can get out of life in the world. BUT LET THEM ENJOY THESE THINGS AMONG THEMSELVES."

  • @thatmormonboy Mark E Petersen reference

Address delivered at Brigham Young University, August 27, 1954

  • @thatmormonboy THE NEGROES ARE NOT EQUAL WITH OTHER RACES where the receipt of certain spiritual blessings are concerned, ...but this inequality is not of man's origin. IT IS THE LORD'S DOING, is based on his eternal laws of justice, and grows out of the LACK OF SPIRITUAL VALIANCE OF THOSE CONCERNED IN THEIR FIRST ESTATE [the Mormon pre-existence]." LDS "Apostle" Bruce R. McConkie, Mormon Doctrine, p. 527 - 528, 1966 edition

  • @thatmormonboy And after the flood we are told that the curse that had been pronounced upon Cain was continued through Ham's wife, as he had married a wife of that seed. And why did it pass through the flood? Because it was necessary that THE DEVIL SHOULD HAVE A REPRESENTATION UPON THE EARTH as well as God...." LDS "Prophet" John Taylor, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 22, p. 304, 1881,

  • Now let’s consider some of the things I DIDN’T mention in this video: Mormons have ALWAYS taught the black people have souls; that they are children of God, and therefore our brothers and sisters. We have ALWAYS believed that black people have all the potential to come to Jesus, be cleaned, sanctified, and then to become like God.

  • We have ALWAYS taught that black people will eventually inherit all of the same blessing that white people will, and these are beliefs that existed even during the most “racist” periods of our history. For over a century, these dogmas alone were far too liberal for mainstream Christianity to accept, and for at least half a century we were persecuted and murdered by Christians for being to liberal about race.

  • So before you go around comparing people to Nazi’s you may want to educate yourself. You can start by going to blacklds.org. Don’t allow yourself to harbor hate and prejudice towards any group, even if you disagree with their doctrine. We as Christians need to love and tolerate each other. When you are bothered by the beliefs of others, spend time studying and researching instead of criticizing. Ignorance perpetuates intolerance.

  • Also, I want you to notice that I did not attack Christians in this video. Such a thing would have been foolish since most Christian denominations have publically apologized for their historical racism. Plus, I realize that we need to let old wounds heal, and we need to forgive. You would be wise to do the same.

  • Another thing, you all have that same fake niceness, Romney has it as well... Why do you all act the same way, it's the whole salesman shtick...It's very eery...It kind of makes my skin crawl...And it's going to be Romney's downfall, because there is something very disingenuous about it...Watching you, I see a mirror image in the way Romeny talks, his mannersims, EVERYTHING...It's truly creepy! I am not saying this to be mean, just to let you know that it's very perceptible! Are you a RM...?

  • @goodgirlkay I don't think you heard a single thing he said in the video. It's too bad, you might have learned something. I thought there were some valid points brought up. The fact that the Mormons were a century ahead of every other church when it came to equality, come on, that's gotta count for something. Who the heck knows why God didn't tell any of the prophets to lift the ban. Who are we to judge?? We are simple - minded children compared to an all-knowing immortal God. Period.

  • @mneliason When you claim to have living prophets at the head of your church...Prophets who are getting direct revelation from God, you will find that those of us who believe in a just God, will be eternally offended when your racist prophets claim that it is God who is directing their racist policies...What do other churches have to do with anything? You people call other other sects apostates and claim to be the only true church...

  • @mneliason You lying people, you were not ahead of anyone...You certainly were not at the forefront of the abolitionist movement, you were not the ones who organized the underground railroad, that was mainly the QUAKERS! You can choose to believe the false history that your church has invented to puff itself up...But at some point objectivity has to come into play...YOu were not ahead of anyone...People of conscience were fighting the good fight long before your false prophet!

  • @goodgirlkay Um... "fake niceness"? I find it saddening that you can't discern a genuine spirit when you see one. I served a mission and was surrounded by hundreds of mostly American missionaries (men/women) and I can tell you that the majority were regular, imperfect people who were trying their best. Based on your analysis, how would you EVER know that someone was genuine? You think this guy (thatmormonboy) is being fake??! And yeah, that is mean to say, especially if you're wrong.

  • Excellent video. Great points, very straight-forward, very upright. Keep it up!

  • In 1850, the LDS Mormon Church went to Hawaii and converted 4,000 Hawaiians. Many of these Hawaiians wanted to come back to Utah, to the new Zion. 30 years later with the "white and delightsome" skin doctrine and the "cursed dark" skin scriptures, from the BOM, the Mormons finally kicked them out Salt Lake City in 1881. These Hawaiians lived 65 miles west of SLC, in the middle of the inhospitable Utah West Desert, known as Iosepa(named for Joseph, Joseph Smith).

  • Interesting. I'd love to study more about that. You have some sources for me?

  • Congratulations for this effort. Keep on it, it is necessary.

  • this video is so false. You are purposefully spreading mistruths

  • What are the "mistruths" I am spreading?

  • @AntonTheSpot you gloss over the whole issue. I did a series on this topic

  • Well, my intention was to briefly discuss the issue, and then refer people to more detailed information and scholarship. You gotta remember that this is Youtube, and I need to keep my videos short and concise. BTW, have you studied the resources I mentioned in the video?

  • response video coming right up

  • "Shall I tell you the law of God in regard to the African Race? If the White man who belongs to the chosen seed mixes his blood with the seed of Cain, the penalty, under the law of God, is death on the spot. This will always be so."

    -BRIGHAM YOUNG

  • @thatmormonboy I love that you are propping up Joseph Smith's views on slavery while completely ignoring the inequality of polygamy that he practiced. Stop fooling yourself into thinking that they were champions of minority rights. Opposing slavery doesn't explain systematic segregation in 1978.

  • @emeryshores You hit the nail on the head.

  • @emeryshores, The LDS church did not just oppose slavery, but, as I explained in the video, also opposed social, civil, and political racism. Polygamy, which I doubt you understand very well, is for another video. I'll address that one by and by. Have patience.

  • Let me get this straight. Young never had a revelation about it, but the LDS Church followed his policy. The LDS prophets after him also followed this same policy even though THEY had no revelation about it either. Isn't that like saying that Brigham Young led the Church astray for more than 100 years?

  • @thatmormonboy I really do appreciate you trying to understand the past, but you have to look at history as a whole. And you can see it was clearly understood in the church that blacks inherited their skin color in the pre-existence, and that they are inferior.

Just because church leaders today are getting it right, does not mean they always have. Which leads me to believe God is not with the leaders of the mormon church any more than he is with the catholic church or others who claim it.

  • @thatmormonboy “We must not inter-marry with the Negro. Why? If I were to marry a Negro woman and have children by her, my children would oil be cursed as to the priesthood. Do I want my children cursed as to the priesthood? If there is one drop of Negro blood in my children, as I have read to you, they receive the curse. There isn’t any argument, therefore, as to inter-marriage with the Negro, is there?”

Apostle Mark E. Peterson, “Race Problems – As They Effect the Church,” 1954

  • @thatmormonboy The Mormon position concerning blacks was clearly stated in a letter written by the First Presidency on July 17, 1947: "From the days of the Prophet Joseph even until now, it has been the doctrine of the Church, never questioned by any of the Church leaders, that the Negroes are not entitled to the full blessings of the Gospel" (Letter from the First Presidency, quoted in Mormonism and the Negro, by John J. Stewart and William E. Berrett, pp. 46-47).

  • Hey MormonBoy..... Just an FYI. "Blacks" were not denied the Priesthood, those of "African Lineage" were, black or white. Blacks of India, Central/South America, the Islands etc. when lineage was determined WERE given the Priesthood.

Having once left the Church myself on mostly this, later learning more, I came to realize that the ban existed entirely because of the racism in the WORLD. Some in the church were slightly effected, but even most of them weren't racists in the normal sense.

  • @leeuniverse, thanks for posting this. My first couple of videos (that never made it to the internet obviously) were way too long and I had to cut out some of the finer details, like the one you pointed out. Thanks :)

  • Now, if you wanted to say that if a "living" prophet was not on the earth and the mormon church screwed up like crazy, that would be one thing. But lets be clear, while Moses was on the earth, do you think God would let Moses lead Isreal astray? Would God allow Moses to teach the children of Israel incorrect doctrine? Keep in mind, Israel could still choose to do what it wanted, but Moses still had to teach what God taught him to teach.

  • @paulbunyan2435 I do not believe Brigham Young lead the church astray. You must have missed the end of the video

  • @thatmormonboy Brigham Young made a very strong statement on this matter when he said, "... Shall I tell you the law of God in regard to the African race? If the white man who belongs to the CHOSEN SEED mixes his blood with the seed of Cain, the penalty under the law of God, is death on the spot. This will always be so." (The Church and the Negro, 1967, pp. 54-55).

Sounds like something a "prophet of God" in the restored church should be guiding the church to understand...

  • @paulbunyan2435 Even King David in the Bible who was "highly favored of the lord" didn't do everything right. But he was still a chosen one and his posterity was still blessed even after his death. Prophets of old and today have made mistakes because they are not perfect like Jesus, but that doesn't negate their larger cause.

  • @luvmyfamily4eternity All David was, was a shadow of a Christlike figure. He was not a "prophet like unto Moses" as Joseph Smith claimed to be and any "prophet" who succeeded him. Joseph Smith claimed to do more for humanity save Jesus Christ and that sets pretty high standards if you ask me. I will judge a man carefully who claims such things. The warning signs in the church are there for a reason, if people choose to set aside what is staring them in the face, may God have mercy on them.

  • @luvmyfamily4eternity Please consider the history as a whole. Blacks and the priesthood is just one area in a slue of others. Please go to God directly and ask Him to show you the Truth. Be willing to forsake all knowledge you have and become as a little child, and learn of Him! Read prayerfully the New Testament and you truly will see a different gospel from what the Mormon Church teaches.

  • ... The mormon church is very similar to the biblical structure in terms of having prophets, apostles, teachers, etc. But Paul warned of a falling away that was very soon (which we know took place about 70 AD). But have you not noticed that there is no scripture of a restoration prior to the return of Christ and His New Jerusalem??? If it was so important to look for a restoration... don't you think God would have given us scripture to look for it, just as He gave scripture to look for Christ?

  • cont... For example, in 1 Cor. 7, Paul makes several references about speaking from his own perspective and not by way of commandment, and in verse 40 he says his judgment comes from the "Spirit of God". Peter in Acts 15, through the "Spirit" of God realizes that anyone, Jew or Gentile who is made clean by God is one of His and not required to perform Jewish rights and rituals to be children of God... etc. The warning signs are there my friend. Yes there is so much good in the church...

  • I appreciate your video and your personal study of the mormon faith. I understand a member's desire to look at the good and explain away warning signs because of our unwillingness to believe we were decieved. My friend, when the Apostle Paul taught things that were not by direct commandment, he taught through the Spirit of God which enabled him to discern right from wrong. He gave righteous judgement on all matters. Don't tell me a "Prophet of God" would not have this same discernment... cont.

  • joseph smith was against slavery so mormonism cant be racist at all!!!

  • Great video. I think this is very valuable to point out that members opposed the KKK and gave blacks the right to vote. You should look up Marvin Perkins too. He feels the law of common consent was the bottle neck. They didn't have all 12 apostles in agreement. There was always one or two opposed. The ban was lifted when they achieved unanimity.

  • You know looking at this data I would say that one reason why blacks weren't allowed to hold the priesthood in the LDS church was because of the demonetization of the Mormons by "Christians," even as seen today, during the time of the equal rights movement in 1964 if blacks were allowed it, even in Missouri where it was still legal to kill some one because they were Mormon until 1976, and it ain't racist to kill a Mormon....
