What kills me is that everybody followed Moses for 40 years in the desert after he saved their lives and took them out of bondage. They saw the Red Sea parted and all of the other so called miracles and they are fed in the desert. Now Moses leaves them for a few days to go up to see the burning bush. He is only gone a few days and every body looses faith and starts worshiping a golden calf. This is not realistic, this is totally a fairy tale. This is the dumbest thing I ever heard.

Ex. 24:9-12 tells us there is pavement (L-B-N-T) sapphire (S-P-Y-R), and then, but not connected, YHWH saying, "I will give you the tablets (L-Ch-T) stone (H-A-B-N)..." The first set may well have been Two Sapphire Stone Tablets. The set I have re-created is as from Ex. 34:1, and presumes the granite from the side of Mt. Sinai.

The Mountain is located in Saudi Arabia. The Arabs don't want to confirm it. The indentations on the mountain made by God is probably there and the one by Moses when he had to replace the tablets.

They were carried in the Ark of the Covenent of which we know the dimensions. 3. As for the original tablets you are correct but I am certain that they would not be much different.

I use the New American Standard Translation myself. It's supposed to translate the meaning of the words, as opposed to the feel of the Book (not that I''m implying anything; I've never read an Interlinear Bible). The translators also made notes in the book on certain words, verses, and passages to further explain their meanings.

I did a biblical word search for "try" in place of test and there are 23 references to God trying humans. Including one by King David asking God to try him so that He would know his heart. Satan is the deceiver so he tempts humans and when they are deceived and sin he then points out their sins to God. I am not certain who's son you are referring to that seems to cause your angry response but I am certain that with some effort you could conceive of a valid reason for one to kill their son.

Abraham's experience was a test of his commitment and showing a willingness to give up his son was all that was required of him. I can see that a great deal of your confusion comes from reading other people's interpretation of the scriptures. I recommend you get an Interlinear Bible and a Strong's Reference and do your own interpretation.

The teaching about the Lapis Stone tablets comes from the Mishna and Talmud which were written nearly a thousand years after the tablets were received. The only insight we are given in the scriptures is that the first set was destroyed. The word He gave Moshe (Moses) was to carve stone out of the mountain (red granite) and that he would re-write them. There is only evidence that there were 10 given on the tablets, however throughout the old testament there are 613 commandments given.

Rather than using the derogatory term "old testament" you really ought to use TaNaKh unless of course you are in agreement with "replacement theology". As for what the ten words were written on, I would say that's secondary to the point that YHVH makes when He gives insight to YermiYahu(Jeremiah in the English translations) about when He is going to make a new covenant with Yisrael and Yehudah and write His commands ON THEIR HEARTS... rather than on granite or lapis. That's where they belong.
