I don't know about the bad diction others are commenting on, although of course, that's their opinion. In mine, he's not trying to put too much slant on the way he sings the lyrics. He's just...singing. I love this version, the phrasing, the feelings that come out of it...
i have to say that this version is by far the best of all that including the original version of it.. the acoustic sound of it brings out the emotion that is already evident by the mere words of it..

this version is absolutely revolting. bad timing, bad guitar, bad diction... voice could have been good, but the singing is really bad...
