@Kristhehistorian Scott Lowden was the person who discovered the girls bodies once he noticed a bicycle sticking out of a ditch. the police inspected the bodies & the crime scene. like i mentioned before the murder weapon was only a few feet away. it was not hid, it was in plain sight. so unless the police where completely incompetent and failed to notice a bloodied rail road spike right next to the bodies i highly doubt they where unaware of its whereabouts before George 'led' them there.

By the way, the child did not lead the police to the murder weapon. It was found in the ditch by the bodies. The boy was arrested hours later. His father had worked for the one of the victim's father, was immediately fired, and Stinney was arrested for the crime. This was literally a mob abducting a child from his family. His family was run out of town with very real threats of violence. He was kept in isolation for 3 months before the show trial and suffered trial through his death alone.
To belief's the sheriff's account of the confession, you have to believe that a 90 lb boy beat two girls to death with a 15 inch railroad spike, and did not get any blood on him, and there was no sign of a struggle against him, not even a scratch. You would have to believe that this 90 lb child dragged the two bodies a considerable distance while getting no blood on him. The facts suggest, to use a legal term out of context, beyond a reasonable doubt that an adult committed the crime.
The all-white jury deliberated for 10 minutes and delivered a verdict of guilty. It is a fact that thousands of black men during this period (and 1944 was toward the tail end) in the south were legally lynched in this manner. The accusation of violating a white woman with little to no evidence, and in cases like this, with no reliable or substantiated evidence, was enough to send thousands of black men to their deaths. This country is internationally renowned for this.
We should probably all stop feeding the troll, but I'll just say this. There was no physical evidence linking this child to the crime. The only evidence presented at trial was one sheriff who said the kid confessed. The confession, if it ever happened at all, was never recorded and not witnessed by anyone else. The trial lasted two hours, and the kid's court-appointed lawyer was a tax commissioner who didn't cross examine the sheriff or present the alibi witnesses who existed.

Do you know that the cops told the boy that if he said he did it, they would give him a candy bar and let him go free? As I said before, his "confession" was coerced. Even his sister confirmed that he was nowhere near the girls when they were killed and that he was at home with her.

The real killer of those 2 girls was a child molester that lived in the neighborhood, but the police went after George Stinney all because he was the only black kid in the area and was seen talking to the girls shortly before they died...The police had no evidence against him whatsoever, and yet they executed him..how sad.

George's sister even verified that it was the only contact they had with the girls. @Kristhehistorian Scott Lowden was the person who discovered the girls bodies once he noticed a bicycle sticking out of a ditch. the police inspected the bodies & the crime scene. like i mentioned before the murder weapon was only a few feet away. it was not hid, it was in plain sight. so unless the police where completely incompetent and failed to notice a bloodied rail road spike right next to the bodies i highly doubt they where unaware of its whereabouts before George 'led' them there.

By the way, the child did not lead the police to the murder weapon. It was found in the ditch by the bodies. The boy was arrested hours later. His father had worked for the one of the victim's father, was immediately fired, and Stinney was arrested for the crime. This was literally a mob abducting a child from his family. His family was run out of town with very real threats of violence. He was kept in isolation for 3 months before the show trial and suffered trial through his death alone.

To belief's the sheriff's account of the confession, you have to believe that a 90 lb boy beat two girls to death with a 15 inch railroad spike, and did not get any blood on him, and there was no sign of a struggle against him, not even a scratch. You would have to believe that this 90 lb child dragged the two bodies a considerable distance while getting no blood on him. The facts suggest, to use a legal term out of context, beyond a reasonable doubt that an adult committed the crime.

We should probably all stop feeding the troll, but I'll just say this. There was no physical evidence linking this child to the crime. The only evidence presented at trial was one sheriff who said the kid confessed. The confession, if it ever happened at all, was never recorded and not witnessed by anyone else. The trial lasted two hours, and the kid's court-appointed lawyer was a tax commissioner who didn't cross examine the sheriff or present the alibi witnesses who existed.

George's sister even verified that it was the only contact they had with the girls. They where the last to see them alive. as for any evidence the police claimed they had, i would NOT trust it at all. we're talking about ppl who tried and sentenced a 13 yr old to death all in the same afternoon. do you not believe that they are above submitting false evidence?

I'm normally in favor of the death penalty, but I have studied the real-life story, and it is pathetic. Even by the standards of 1944, the young man was denied any pretense of justice.

What's really fucked up is that The Anglo-Saxon raped "Black" women and little girls with impunity and nothing happened to them.
