I was able to stun the Creep at 8:54 a couple times before it grappled me and went to cutscene. It'll be pretty awesome if you can kill the Creep this early in the game and unlock a special ending or something. Also I figured out how to use slide kick, it's sprint and then melee.

FEAR 3 is not scarier than Dead Space 1 or 2. In this game you have minor setting detail and atmosphere to form the scary parts. In Dead Space you have a major amount of detail, minimal ammo, great graphics, and overall great gameplay. My favorite level in Dead Space 2 would be the Elementary school part. Bringing babies and kids into a game like that really changes the fear factor even if you don't realize it, then having the happy poster covered in warnings of blood put it over the edge.

FEAR 3 is not scary. If you shit yourself playing FEAR 3, you would die of heart attack from Dead Space 2.

The apartment setting reminds me of Dead Space 2 - especially those candles. But Dead Space 2 did it better. You bet! Graphics comes into play. It looks like FEAR 3 was developed for the original Xbox and then ported to the Xbox 360.

I was talking about texture detail and realism in particular, not display quality. Cartoon is still cartoon in HD. Poor texture used in FEAR 3 wouldn't look stellar in HD either.

I personally think it was the style they went for. None of the fear games were all that realistic in the first place. I kind of like how they weren't trying to make it seem as realistic as possible, that gets old fast. But as I was saying, I don't think their goal exactly was as real looking as possible.

@himsonli That is your opinion. I have played Dead Space 1 + 2 AND Fear 1 + 2. I still believe that FEAR is scarier. I was mostly getting pissed in Dead Space 2 because I always ran out of cash to get ammo or health. I plan on getting FEAR 3 and hope it lives up to it's elder games.

In my opinion, the brutality of Dead Space (dismemberment) makes it win over FEAR. I see that FEAR 3 sometimes has dismemberment too but the graphics sucks so bad that you don't take it seriously. I also really miss those skeletons, Alma's handy work, from FEAR 1 and its expansion pack.

Only Silent Hill really maintains a darn scary atmosphere. Resident Evil and FEAR are now too far gone. But I'm still getting this game. As a fan, I couldn't miss out any even if it is mediocre.

@TheAribom All thanks to the bloody scenery Alma creates in those games. Yes. I've 1000G'ed FEAR 3 already. It's a fair FPS game but the scares are few and far apart. The creep sequences are the only real disturbing ones. But after multiple playthroughs (which the game's challenges encourage you to do), they only become annoying.

Man, Fettel is such a compelling villain. Invulnerable but indifferent. Dwarfed by the powerful events around him and totally unafraid that he might get swept away in the wash.

Too bad his character isn't getting developed as much in this story and it's just used as sparse decoration to the "COD" type missions. Loving the Suburban NorthWest feel of the neighborhoods.
