  • Thanks so much for posting this. I've always been curious to know what it would have sounded like as a Blondie / TV Mania project.

  • Written by Duran Duran, the song was produced by Warren Cuccurullo and Nick Rhodes' TV Mania. This was a departure from previous album material, where production was always credited to Duran Duran plus any outside producers.

The track was originally written for Blondie, who Duran Duran once toured with as a supporting act in America, during her Tracks Across America Tour of 1982. Blondie recorded a demo version of this song which is available on the Dream Boyz album

  • do you have this in mp3 form??

  • @jamesy12211 Yes! If you want, PM me and I'll gladly send it to you

  • @BlondEmilio:Oh sorry. It was your response TO Tretnyc that I read and was referring to

  • @thatman103 Oh, don't worry, I was just thinking about what he had said. I'm sorry if I sounded rude or mean, that was not my intention. I just got confused on which comment you were referring. I'm glad you liked the song! :)

  • I've heard that Duran Duran wrote this for Blondie and then did themselves. Supposedly Blondie wrote another song for DD but I think that what TRETNYC says is more accurate

  • @thatman103 What did TRETNYC say that can be accurate? He has not said anything concerning this song :/...

  • This song was written and recorded in 1996. The Duran Duran version was released in 2000, four years later. I think at that point Blondie wasn't interested in releasing it - neither have I heard anything about TV Mania (Rhodes/Cuccurullo) talking poorly about Debbie Harry or Blondie.

  • Thanks! Never even heard of this before. Sounds like Debbie wrote it; do you know? Love the lyrics and it sounds like it goes off into a lil bit of sci-fi fun at the end. The image was from a mini-concert I was at in 2004 down at City Hall Park in NYC. That was a blast!

  • @TRETNYC I am pleased you like it! You're totally welcome! Well let me tell you; when Blondie reunited in 1997 , they met up with Warren Cuccurullo and Nicholas Bates (from Duran Duran) for them to produce two new studio tracks for them: ''Studio 54'' and ''Pop Trash Movie'' that would eventually be released in a compilation album that would mark Blondie's return: ''This Is Blondie''.The band rejected the proyect and they started working on ''No Exit''.

  • @TRETNYC Well, then the album got ready and this two wondeful tracks got flushed away. Duran Duran later ''took'' this track and re-recorded it for their ''Pop Trash'' album, leaving Blondie no choice than putting it on shades. At the same time, the Durans were talking shit about Blondie (:(). Blondie demos are totally awesome! I have a few in my collection if you do want one, just send me a private message with your e-mail and I'll be glad to share them with you! Thank you TRETNYC!
