Fantastic. Great lead vocals and harmony, great lead guitar. The bass riff is awesome. I just keep listening to it over and over. Great energy. I like wide-brimmed hat.
The Association will make their first New York City appearance in 10 years at BB Kings in Times Square New York NY on Friday July 23. I have my tickets.
...usually don't like it when a hit is re-vamped (like when a group tires of doing the same old hit)...BUT THIS IS FANTASTIC...love the R&B/jazzy feel Yester added while the rest of the song is intact! WOW! WOW!!!! AWESOME! Yes...a group that never got its props. More talent there than given credit for.

OK. The 60's - Mary - May Jane. Pretty straight up. But the texture of the guitars and the wavy flute always conjured up water for me. I always Imagined that the song was inspired by a hurricane - ideally one named "Mary". A metaphorical tribute to the tumultuous nature of a woman. My ESP tells me that's actually the truth, and you guys just don't want to tell. Haha. Great song either way! Cheers!
Heard them last night in Fort Wayne 10/23/09....3 of the originals including Jim Yester singing this song........awesome and he's what ........70 now!!!
One of the lost/forgotten bands of the 60's. I think I've heard just about all of their stuff, and I was born in 1968! But they never got any attention. Great sound.
What a great performance! They were an outstanding live act and this was obviously an "on" night . Their live album is one the best. I have a couple of autographs on my copy!
Bruce didn't join the band until early 1985. I met him after one of the band's shows in 1989. He was a very nice and cool to talk with. Ted plays drums here.
damn.....for 83...very good. i want to say better. but the style is different than the origional. the style at hand is perfect though. very very good.
Love Jim Yesters voice and the flute, just sounds better than other folks trying to cover the original lead vocals. Not sure what the hat on the Japanese is all about or why he started that mess. Thick glasses and a hat. Not sure I like it when he sings lead on some of Jims songs

Jim Yester really is the greatest singer. He made this group. I remember this song from my teenage days. However to this day Jim still has the voice.

I wish classic groups would stick a little closer to the melody that made the songs beloved. It's just an opinion.
I wonder if that's my old friend Bruce Piktor on drums? He was with them for awhile in the 80's, I think it was. Anyone know bruce?

No I'm not Brian's son. One of his son's, Jordan, does play in the present day band.
I did take the last name "Cole" in honor of him when I entered the music business.
After some extensive research, his personality looks like it matched mine.
