  • you have some great stuff here

  • some sweet info here

  • i enjoyed this vid

  • Thats not P0rtal. Ripoff dude.

  • @mjstudley *portal, its not spelt with a 0 zero

  • Minecraft with this thing = Best game ever^^

  • @MrWRlove Be careful sir, things that are too awesome may make the universe collapse on itself.

  • dude portal is already 3D

  • now put a zombie there

  • Minecraft oO xD

  • Where the portal?

  • the wepons are a lie!

  • @wilsonisboss

    Fuck off.

  • not portal T-T

  • this is webcam

    webcam game

  • this is webcam

  • Stuff like these will work with all gamers when we'll be able to make motion trackers with 1000 FPS for very low costs and thus include them in these "toys" of ours.

As it stands now, responsiveness is severely lacking.

  • move

  • no portal tum down!

  • Ripoff. I was expecting the Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device

  • the cake is a lie

  • step 3: create a character that can be fully controlled with your entire body,

    ENTIRE BODY :D

  • That can be great in WoW

  • what does this have to do with portal

  • @maribakumon i think the device is named portal.

  • pretty gay using your finger. but its cool.

  • wat....2001? WHAT THE FUCK???

  • The 3D makes me kinda dizzy

  • This is not portal!

  • wtf man I went to see a portal video!!!!!!!!!!

  • Seems laggy.. just like the "kinect"

  • kill your self with axe

  • Can we track the eyes instead? My forearm and fingers are getting tired!

  • Girls use their fingers. Guys use their hands.

  • lol its the better version of kenetic

  • @angrykillalot Heheh GestureTek developed this internally many years before Kinect (circa 2002) but it wasn't very viable for the public as the setup was a little clunky.

IT uses 2 cameras to track movement inside a cubic space. Kinect uses depth cameras to track your movement in 3D. A different approach all together!

  • @phred75 there has been a lot of different ways that tracking movement in 3D has been done, i just think that this is better than the kinect.

  • @angrykillalot Heheh well good I'll let the programmer who designed this know!

  • @phred75 3 years later, lol

  • @angrykillalot Heheh the video was posted 3 years ago.. that tech has been around for much longer!!

  • @phred75 -_-' 2001 is 2001 it doesn't change

  • @phred75 i think this idea is very cool! it could be a whole new alternative to the "desktop" computer. like two small cubes just big enough for your hands that track exactly when you move em and you just have a monitor that shows your "virtual" hands to control things. VERY cool man. or even just gloves that have sensors. they already have that tho don't tho... just my thoughts on the subject.

  • @phred75 Sometimes, simple truly is better.

This little thing, seems more solid than kinect.

I've seen some buggy behavior from kinect, plus kinect requires more activity, while something like this blends well with the modern gaming community.

  • @angrykillalot mean kinnect? xD

  • @obsidialord oops lol

  • @angrykillalot

    It's KINECT, Idiot.

  • @SparkyAndGojoShow obsidialord said it already, idiot XD

  • @angrykillalot

    AHAHA!

  • @angrykillalot wait is that a vetrex arent thsoe like from th 90s thats amazing

  • Im scared

  • It's Like Kinect :D

  • The Beginnings of Virtual Reality :O

  • HA! is there where Elza (Fairy Tail) take she's weapons, that was not magic just science!!!

  • cool for zombie survival games :P

  • fake and gay you can see his reflection with a wii mote or something in his hand

  • @thefoxgang LOL not a chance man. This was done LONG before Wii even existed. I know, I helped optimize the code for it.... :)

  • @phred75 wii was published 2006 though :P

  • @phred75 WTF BITCH!?!?? WII was invented 2006 this is posted 200.. 7!!!!!!!!

  • @Netaro1000 The video was POSTED in 2007. The tech was developed LONG before that... BITCH!

  • @phred75

I call bullshit if you were a legitimate console or motion tracking designer for the wii, you wouldn't be commenting with profanity on youtube so i'm guessing your just some 13 year old trying to get attention.

  • @lan54321 I'm not, nor did I ever claim to be a "console or motion tracking designer for the wii". I'm a senior coder for GestureTek which is the company who developed the technology you see above plus many more in the computer gesture recognition space. THAT particular tech in the video has been around since about 2001 - 2002.

And you think because I use profanity you call bullshit? What you think coders don't swear? We swear a lot! Try debugging one day... :)

  • @thefoxgang you're dumb.

  • @thefoxgang Wii is the fucking stupidist game system ever... boo you nintendo

  • @thefoxgang stop being a noob who says everything is fake theres atleast 1 person who says something that is amazing is fake stop being one of them gayass this is a awesome program face it

  • Is there a force calculation? That would be amazing if you had a realistic sever/kill game.

  • @laxwolf It just returns position information, from there you can derive your own force calculations.

  • @phred75 Are those things above the monitor sensors of some sort? Also, how do you get it to only track your finger movement without any keys or anything?

  • garrys mod would be fun with this, just being able to turn easier and use the weapons like that. oh and look how many people accidently clicked dislike.

  • KILL SOMEONE WHIT 1 FINGER WOOHOO!!! >=D

  • It'd be cool if you could Call of Duty with this program. Imagine making a gun shape with your hand and that would be your controller. :D

  • @chimeramoon5

No that would get to tiresome holding a shape of a gun the entire game...

  • These needs to be a game!

    "Finger Fighters!" hehe.

  • I can imagine one day, being able to fence electronically with my dong... That is the dream

  • it should be like this in an inuyasha game

  • actually it would be awesome to develope a game using this//

  • Yes it reminds you to Natal -

    Because Natal is stupid.

  • I could play with this endlessly.

  • wow! amazing. good work man :)

  • Add zombies

  • fac iu

  • Awesome

  • i love it :D if this was combined with a game like Garrysmod (look it up, very fun) then i would bow down to you

  • Cool! It looks like the hollodeck from Star Trek!

  • yay something like WII ? :D

  • and use other hand to use mouse soo epic fall

  • And always somebody gona starting bitching and crying about some1 trollin...

  • Step 2. Add zombies

  • The Future Of Games...

  • Dude, he needs to quit pointing so hard... made my hand hurt just watching it

  • natal or whatever its called (microsoft, xbox's answer to the fantastic wii) workes just like that.... and it has zombies^^ or well in a few years it will have zombies^^

  • There's a camera on top to see where his finger is moving. Or he memorized where the items move or go to. It's fake. Or it's simple

  • step 2: add zombies.

  • left 4 dead 3??

  • HAXXXX

  • I sure would get tired of wagging my finger around all day.

  • now all we need to do is design a game around that

  • GAMERs programmm....

  • Awesome program

  • the future of wow lol

  • cool! is it for gaming?

  • remind me xbox 360 project natal :D

  • Except we (GestureTek) had this going back in 2002.

  • @phred75 you might have had it in 2002... but microsoft has perfected it in 2010

  • @Gwoods86 agreed

  • @phred75 you guys are incedible

  • Thats really cool! :P

  • WTF is that ._.?!

  • i think this should be in the elder scrolls , but , AMAZINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

  • Now you just need a little kid who thinks he's rad to promote it in a movie about video games and you've got the power glove!

  • lol I don't even want to know all of math behind all of those rotations ^^

  • This should be in the Elder Scrolls V.

  • YES!!!

  • @BlueBajs YES!!!!!! That'd be awesome xD

  • Luke... use the force...

  • I can do that with camspace ._.

  • ok wtf is this infarared/infrarot stuff??? this guy never said anything in the vid. >_>. and y do u ppl assume this guy is german? and wtf is so bad about germans anyway? I mean wtf ppl? lol I think this was a cool vid. with some pretty cool special effects =D.

  • wat is dat?

  • Wtf is this i want it now!!

  • Cool.

  • thats how video games will be in like 10 years

  • Hmm at the rate its going i would say only a few years

10 years we will have games that are so like real life you can't tell the difference

  • can you make the software available anywhere? thx

  • your hand is like a infrarot reflector and there is maybe a thing which sends infrarot to your hands! The thing also adsorbs the reflected infrot form your finger? So the special programm can make a result where the reflection came..(maybe)

  • No infrared was used to make this... it's all gesture recognition.

  • dumb german

  • look to you you fool! there is a huge age distance to me! I am able to make it with infrarot technology with 16 years :P

  • there was no infraROT... there isnt any infraROT.. there is only infrared... and that wasnt used here !!!! geezus

  • damn man thats the german word you freak klugscheiser :P

  • i know its german for infrared thats why i said ur a dumb german.... GET IT?! You gottverdammten hurensohn?

  • stupid... -_- you dont have to correct my sentence ok? do you have friends? if not then buy a ps3 and die!

  • err... i wasnt correcting ur sentence... i was correcting everything u said... THERE WAS NO INFRARED OR INFRAROT... U WERE WRONG!! and ur acting like an idiot... do urself a favor and shut the fuck up

  • As a programmer at GestureTek I can tell you that this technology is pulled of using nothing but cameras. No wii-mote object needing to be held in hand.... thats the point! :)

  • let me guess, wiimote. I saw something similar before

  • i was going to do a project like that with juggling in college, but the interface for the video editing machine was anachronistic. way.

  • great

  • biometrics are g8t! smartcards for access.

  • NICE!!!
