The First World lives off the exploitation of the Third World. Even America's homeless are in the world's richest 15%. Only when JDPEN stems the flow of capitalism-imperialism's superprofits to the First World can be begin to talk about environmental sustainability. Long Live Maoism- Third Worldism! Death to America!
@BattousaiOfChaos i live in the United States as do my friends and family so you just said death to me and those i love. Cuba has done great work becoming sustainable, but China seems "all about money" today, their environmental regulations are almost non existent, as are their laws protecting animals from cruelty, and endangered species, so much for Maoism. i have several friends who live or did live in China and they give me an earful.
Should I even respond to this? I'm asking myself. First of all, China abandoned Maoism in 1970 when Mao Zedong split with Lin Biao and China began turning its economy capitalist. Secondly, every American including me, you, and your loved ones lives at the expense of the exploitation of the whole planet but especially at the expense of Third Worlders. I'm an environmentalist, but it's absurd to think tiny "reformist" efforts are going to make a difference within the framework of this system.
cloth diaper--good idea cup in the car--me too the city peoples book of raising food?--need it eco-dent? -hmmm, edible book--need it edible landscaping -- need it ALWAYS CARRY A SPOON. bring your own grocery bag--yupp me too yay. nice to meet you. Trevor
Honestly I think what you guys do is a good cause and really, we need more of that type of belief in this world. Overall, however I feel the more important thing is saving the lives of people rather than putting so much attention into saving the planet. It's no question the world is falling apart, that's part of life though. We all live, we all die. However, on the flip side, humans, unlike the earth, are a spirit that continues to eternity after death. So there's a huge difference. Nice vid btw
Yes but there's a difference between helping the planet and helping someone directly. For instance, take poor children in Etheopia or the sick in indonesia. Having a cleaner planet isn't going to save their life... rather bathing, clothing, or feeding them in more direct manners can.
Not all of us are in a position to care for those in our countries. But reducing our consumption of products we do directly effect others. Have you read Barbara Kingsolver's excellent book, "The Poisonwood Diary?" In it she makes an excellent case for how policy of the U.S.A.effects African nations because of our consumption of resources. And there is a video called "The Congo's Tin Soldiers" about how children are used as slaves in Africa to fuel our consumption. You can see it on youtube.
cool video and if you need some more good green tips on how to be a REAL environmentalist check out this FUN video on youtube at "10 green tips love" thanks guys i promise ull like it theres even good music!!! <3 MaDiSoN
It's great to see how far we have come since 1971. :) I think all this is making a huge difference. But yes, there is still much much more that needs to be done.
you look great for your age! Another good trick is to take a gallon water bottle or a large pickle jar and put rocks in it, close it and then put it inside your toilet tank to cut down on water use.
Hey Nan... that was a great video, and you're a lovely lady. The camera likes you ;)
You should do more on youtube. My experience is you do get much more attention on youtube than myspace. I've been thinking about making the switch myself.

When we take care of the planet, working to clean up the water, soil, and air, which all people depend on, we do save the lives of people. ♥ Nan
