Hello Sebastien, I want to ask you what I should do if I have knee pain. I have landed very bad in my 6 months practice and now I am suffering. Next time I shall pay attention to my landing sound but for now what should I do?
@ekojk1242 I'm not who you asked, I know, but I can answer anyway: Rebuild your form. Maybe something's wrong with your posture. It's important to have CONTROL over your entire body at all times. Never "throw" yourself into a jump. You are one solid unit, every limb in its exact but flexible place. If you don't feel like this then you aren't and you will damage things like your knees. I also had to learn this the hard way.
Trying to be completely silent in general is very helpful.
If such a basic tutorial was posted about anything else it would get flamed and laughed over, im 100% sure. But the fact that even most advanced traceurs take this video very seriously and do their best to improve on even such a basic move just goes to show how our worldwide Parkour community is a big group of very intelligent and well mannered people =)
this is cool i feel like alot of people aren't really grasping things like this and their importance. here in America a lot of people think that its all about where you are going not where your at which causes a lot of people to leave out important principles like this and it is very hard to get information like this because everyone is so concerned with the future and not here in this present moment. thank you Sebastien Foucan your helping me to relearn things that i was cheating myself on! :)
@MrTrust1993 Don't bend more than 90, but some don't give a fuck and some don't even know... but they also don't know the difference between freerunning and parkour...
@pkLipe look... i'm jz asking bout the knees... not bout the diferences of freerun and parkour.... i noe its two different philosophy but i dun think we shud even separate them....
What is your source of information about this? Mine is the internet so I can be wrong of crouse. I'm wondering if you're 100% sure nad maybe you know someone who's knees are myth now because he was bending them more than 90 degrees?
@3runMasterX Yes, I know a few people that gave up their career because of it and also who still continue but have to bear with the pain of it in the cold.
@3runMasterX the "90 degree rule" in pk bases on an article that I published on my pk website in 2003 about landing. Like the chinese whispers game goes it was scaled down, just "dont go below 90" wich wasnt the full point. the point was, most ppl are NOT trained to withstand force+impact in a position below 90 so unless you start to REALLY train your body constantly and well to be strong down there, you should not take immense force like a landing impact in that weak position. no myth, truth ;)
u r so good at free running :)

Very refreshing! I actually forget that I need to land without sound. Thank you!

Good! This is very important and unfortunately many practitioners forget this.
I even find it quite fun to try to land as quiet as i can. :)
