Idina Menzel's Last Matinee-the Wizard and I

The whole point of going to a person's final performance, unless the audience member was unaware it was the final and in that case the person is out of sorts, is to see them do something spontaneous and different than what they normally do. I'm glad she kept the tradition. Loved this then, love this still.

I don't notice it as much on other songs, but on this one I notice it almost always sounds best live. It's something the live orchestra really adds to this one.

Was that Helen Dallimore as Glinda? I usually don't like her but she sounded so cute here. And needless to say, Idina knocked the breath out of me...again.

I liked it as well. It's a nice surprise. Idina hardly ever does improvises so I really dug it. It made it more special cuz she usually does a straightforward interpretation.
