So I don't think you can really say it would be even if you then gave a black racial slur too, as there is so much more history behind that, in fact I am not even sure its really about skin color as much as it is about the history and the intent behind the slur.

yeah, just shows racism and language are strange things... I am white and being called a Honky, Cracker, whatever is water off a ducks back... It has no teeth, bite, venom behind it... It doesn't rattle my cage or get to me at all.

There are personal attributes that will get to me like references to my weight (and at-least I can change that) but references to my skin "color" is not something that would ever get to me.

but to add to that meaningless comment, I question why in our society, filled both with white and black, it is culturally acceptable and funny to say Honkey, but not Nigger.
