My mom actually worked with Maestro on 1975 production of "Gayane" at The Armenian National Academic Opera & Ballet Theatre in Yerevan. She is an accompanist of ballet.
Thanks 'circusitch' from jzpatelut....i appreciate and it was reward paying work for you and your team along with Khatchaturians granddaughter)...i like to see her photograph at that time of ballet group at Philadelphia...you see Khatchaturian is my hero of the world as best composer as well as conductor from the stats of armenia... i really love him ..like some one love their girl friends....you see that big love...Thanks again...jzpatelut......
:)))))) thank you:)))) I'm recently learning Khachaturian's Lullaby (arranged for piano) and if I nail it, I'll post it on YouTube and let you know about it:P and never be scared or underestimate yourself:)
Awwe.. Thanks. Umm.. From the Gayane Ballet, I've played the Sabre Dance, Scene of Ayesha & Gayane, Spring, and I have a concert coming up where I'm playing a Pas de Deux with a violinist at our Agoump!
THANK YOU so much for putting this up! I love Khatchaturian's music (especially the Gayane Ballet Suite) and a treat to see this video with Khatchaturian himself conducting!
Additionally, "pijik7777" just recently put up a Youtube video of the finale of "Gayane" by the Armenian National Theatre 2004. I wish we could purchase a DVD of the entire Gayane Ballet danced by the Armenian National Theatre. Please, more clips from it on Youtube!
"Gayane" is one of my very favorite ballets. I too was disappointed in the Latvian Ballet's production BUT the DVD was a worthwhile purchase for me just to have these 1964 excerpts to watch and enjoy.
I would love to see "Gayane" danced in authentic Armenian costumes like in the "Khachaturian" documentary DVD. There are 4 Youtube clips from "nahabed" of Gayane beautifully danced by Armenians.
The version of the Latvian Ballet Company is like of these 20 minutes clip? I looking for a DVD showing Gayaneh ballet with dancers in Armenians costumes and decors...like I saw in the DVD of documentary Khachaturian's life I bought at Amazon.
No.. The DVD of the Latvian Ballet Company's version of Gayane is the full Ballet, but it's actually a TERRIBLE version.. The dances and the scenes are not in the right order, the dancing is bad, everything is mixed up.. I think the costumes were bad too. Anyways.. these clips here are from the 20 minute video in Special Features section of the DVD.. It's way better than the Latvian Ballet company's version..
Oh my god, I saw the DVD of this Latvian company at Amazon and it's HORRIBLE. It's a version like that I don't want to see! Where can get a decent version like this clip?!
At last!!! This ballet with dancers in REALS ARMENIANS COSTUMES, not slime ballet suit!!!! Post the rest PLEASE!!! Where did you get this version?! I'm a fan of Khachaturian!!
It's from the DVD of the whole Ballet Danced by the Latvian Ballet Company.. But the clips you are seeing in my videos are from one of the Special Features on the disc. It is a 20 minute (REALLY short compared to the actual 3 hour Ballet) video clip of the Dancers of the Bolshoi Dancing Gayané and Maestro Aram Khachaturian conducting.
Does anyone have an idea on what the props are in Dance of the Rose Maidens? Im looking for something similar for a ballet performance!
