  • @aasinapples alternate it so you do arms and shoulders monday then the week after do it on tuesday so your body doesnt begin to get into a routine that way you will confuse it and pound on the muscle. When you do chest you will find veins pumpin in ur arms aswell as your chest!

  • @aasinapples hi dude. You shouldnt need to do it 4 times. Your arms are pretty much worked in everything like chest etc as u gain strength through your arms aswell as ur chest but you should do a full session at least once a week on your arms and maybe shoulders at the same time.

  • The straight bar builds more muscle then then the easy curl bar they both work it's just that the straight bar works better and to people who say "can I do this everyday?" no that's a dumb question you can't work on biceps everyday!

  • I never do this exercise because it kills my wrists. Instead of using the flat bar, I use the easy curl bar.

  • @purplefetus3 It's prolly because you don't keep your hands straight hence putting weight on your wrist.

  • @BAMFkingBizarro I'll have to look into that. Do you keep your wrists bent? (flexed? or extended?) or straight? A trainer told me to keep the wrists extended. I don't think he's correct. I just avoided the excercise altogether until I can be sure I have the right form.

    So which part do i have to workout first?

    As if i do my back workout first i can't concentrate 100% on my Bicep as my target is to get Bigger ARMS.. =)

    So do i have to workout my Back exercise or my Bicep exercise in order to gain my target?

  • @momokia89 if you go at gym, you have to do both, kidna 3-4ex for each,or if you want other program, you can work each on part, like A-Chest / B-Arms[biceps+triceps] / C-Back / D-Shoulders / E-Legs[optional]

  • @Florinelcristea I want to stick with Bi's/Back because i think it would help me to gain mass. I just don't know which part should i start with back or bicep? My gain is to have bigger Arms. =)

  • @momokia89 I know exactly what you're talking about. I would alternate on a monthly basis. For a month do the back first then the biceps. Then the next month do the biceps first and then the back. For more variation, in the 3rd month, I would do biceps with chest and something else with back.

    It's key to change it up every 2 wks or every month. I prefer to change up my routine every month. If you keep the routine indefinitely constant, your muscles develop tolerance and don't grow anymore.

    that is 1/3 of the "21" workout. 7 reps from rest to stomatch, 7 reps from stomach to upper chest, and then 7 full reps from rest to upper chest. the "21".

  • i have just started training i am 19 years of age . I started with heavy weights at first go someone told me in doing so u will tear your biceps muscle and ur muscle will never grow is that true?????pls reply.....and if i have tore my bicep muscle how will i find it???

  • @chetlangia you shouldn't start with heavy weights. Build up gradually. Better to buy a book and carefully follow advice. YOu are going to discover that its easy to do exercises wrong and injure yourself and that being injured is the last thing anyone wants because it can set you back sometimes for months especially back injuries. Be wise and patient in time you'll get the results you want.

  • @NCWC916 what are you expecting? In order to build your bicep, you have to use it. Thus doing curls lol. The only other way to gain bicep mass is just by doing other free wieght exercises but nothin will build it more then curls.

  • @NCWC916 A good thing to do is work your tricep muscle. Its actually bigger than the bicep so doing tricep exercises (using lower weight on the dumbell) will actually achieve the effect of building that bicep/tricep area. Also do forearms too. Search for "Scooby" on here and check out his killer arm exercises. I've been doing them, they are excellent.

  • I have done a lot of research, looking into science of muscle and what bodybuilders and power lifters suggest... and so the result is: for strength you need to use 80% to 90% of your 1RPM (which you can most likely do 3-5 reps with) this is why ppl say 5 rep for strength.. 10-15 are told to be best for maximum gains/little strength..... for endurance you need more like 15 to 30 reps. and time under tension is important. think about sprinters vs marathons.. muscle tension is 10s to 90s vs 5-30m?

  • Directed to iflovedie - Going slow is definitely good, but going faster is actually better :P You're body is made up of fast-twitch and slow-twitch muscle fibres. The fast twitch muscle fibres make up a bigger portion of the muscle, that is why it's better to do controlled fast repetitions, rather than slow. Going slow is good for control, but once you're past that, you should speed it up a bit. Only do this if you are confident and are comfortable enough to carry out high intensity training.
