@olimshalom Hype needs to be separated from the facts. Do your research and you will change your opinion. The Prophet himself was persecuted and victimized and his followers grew in times of great hardship. He inspired people then and continues to inspire more than a billion people today without any sword on our heads. Surely we are seeing something that you are missing. People praise other people all the time, we praise our fathers, friends, mothers, brothers, etc but as soon as a few words of praise are mentioned for the Prophet we can see some heads popping up screaming shirk.... This is shirk We must say Kalma Tayyaba at the time of death only.... Only ask Allah for forgiveness and mercy as this is what our Beloved Prophet taught us to do and do not see the Prophet and Allah as being on equal levels though Allah loves the Prophet more than any thing. Allah is the most exalted and the highest.

@manzar2 brother it is you who are indulging in shirk when you say Allah is greatest... Allah is great. The word 'greatest' is always used to compare with others. Yes we say Ya RasoolAllah in Madina and we also say Ya RasoolAllah everywhere. I can say Ya Akhi (O brother) to you sitting here online while you are miles away. Presence is not necessary. And calling out to loved ones who are not present is so common - it is not shirk. We always call out to persons whom we love and adore.
I think you need to get your facts right bro, as @manzar2 is not indulging in shirk when he says that Allah is the greatest. "Allah Akbar" actually means "Allah is the greatest".
And that is the whole idea of this takbeer, to actually convey that, compare to "anything" in existance, in the past, present or the future, that Allah is the greatest .
@as160494 Welcome to accusation land... So how does it feel to be accused of shirk when u r not committing it? Manzar was accusing Pakistanis of shirk and he has got a dose of his own medicine. Most Pakistanis are Muslims and it is wrong to accuse a Muslim with shirk. There is no menace of shirk in Pakistan as Manzar thinks. People have been brainwashed into thinking that way. Saying Ya RasoolAllah is not shirk just like saying Allah u Akbar is not shirk.
I hope you forgive me, as i am taking this post regarding shirk, slightly out of the way, but i hope you will at least try to understand what i am trying to imply or conclude, for example:
Kaffir is a very serious label, but if you study the quran and hadees, you will find that it can have more than one interpretation, so it is imperrative that you study and understand all the statements and not part of the statements, in the following post (post 2) it can be seen that:
Kaffir can mean, someone who does not believe in the oneness of Allah, and that mohammad is not the prophet of Allah.
This is very clear and undisputed by all the scholars however:
The shaitan is labeled as a kaffir, but the shaitan "believes in the oneness of Allah" and the shaitan also "believes that mohammad is the prophet of Allah"
Is that not astonishing!
The difference being is that shaitan "Rejected the Commands and Decree of Allah" hence he is a Kaffir !
Whereas Shirk can also be equally translated in different forms:
Remember from the previous (post 2), it is clear that to reject the commands of Allah is considered kufr ? yes or no?, if yes then try to consider a senario, that thousands of muslims (or so called muslims) are busily engaged in watching cricket live in the stadium, tv, sattelite etc, and it is Maghrib salah time, these so called muslims (you are eager to defend) have deliberately decided to miss the fard -

They have not only rejected Allah's command, but they have also substituted cricket for Allah, they consider cricket above Allah, although they are not saying that they worship cricket, nevertheless that is what they have (deliberately) decided to do, so therefore to consider cricket more than the commands of allah is a form of shirk. Allah says that He will not -
post 5 - Allah says that He will forgive everything, but he will not forgive "shirk".
This is where a muslim needs to understand one very important thing:
If allah has said that He will forgive everything, but he will not forgive "shirk", then what has the shaitan to gain by getting you (humans) to do and practice theft, murder, usery, prostitution, adultery, and other sins, when the shaitan knows that Allah is going to forgive you anyway.
post 6 - The shaitans only purpose is the eternal damnation of Insaan, so can you not see that the shaitan's ultimate purpose in existance is to make the human to commit shirk, the shaitan will mask and hide all his tricks and plans (concealment), so as that you dont even know you are engaged in shirk when you may be actually in the thick of it, the shiatan will direct you towards an idea that will take you away from deen, the shaitan will then direct you towards meaningless-

You can keep your twisted logic with you - we dont need it. Shirk is related to worship and not to calling out :) Shirk is associating partners to Allah in worship. A scholar started searching for a similar verse than this for Prophet MOHAMMAD (peace be upon him) but he didn't find anything same as that verse, but what he found was. ALLAH (Swt) said "O Mohammad (PBUH) i love you so much that whoever loves you, i will love that person because he loves you"

Well May i tell a true incident a old man in our street ..saw HAZRAT MUHMMAD (S.A.W)....while he was about to die he laugh and said to his whife that Prophet (P.B.U.H) is here and he died in a very beautiful way ..he smiles only till last breath ...And its true! ...Islam is the best i wish all of us pray namaz and Quran and learn Islam but only what we do just fighting on Prophet (P.B.U.H) its really hurting ...

The Prophet himself was persecuted and victimized and his followers grew in times of great hardship. He inspired people then and continues to inspire more than a billion people today without any sword on our heads. Surely we are seeing something that you are missing. Yes we say Ya RasoolAllah in Madina and we also say Ya RasoolAllah everywhere. I can say Ya Akhi (O brother) to you sitting here online while you are miles away. Presence is not necessary. And calling out to loved ones who are not present is so common - it is not shirk. We always call out to persons whom we love and adore.

Kaffir can mean, someone who does not believe in the oneness of Allah, and that mohammad is not the prophet of Allah.
This is very clear and undisputed by all the scholars however:
The shaitan is labeled as a kaffir, but the shaitan "believes in the oneness of Allah" and the shaitan also "believes that mohammad is the prophet of Allah"

It is thro such mentors that we find out what Allah wants from us. We are grateful to our mentor, Prophet Muhammad Sallallaho Alayhe Wa Aalehi Wa Sallam and we adore him. We are grateful to him. Allah wants us to love him and obey him and follow him and consider him above everything else.

Brother and Sister you have to relax and start reading the Quran again and again, never miss a page or even a line, if you get bored or tired and you feel that you lost the concentration, then go back to the point where you were fully alert and intrested and start again from this point. The secret is that when you start to feel tired, then stop and just contimplate on what you have read so far, -

Brother and Sisters at first you will be dissapointed and confused, simply because you are trying to take in too much, the language, message and guidance, justice, rewards and punishment etc
Start on the language of the Quran, choose the best translater that you can understand easily and you feel comfortable, in fact you may need to read the whole Quran at least three times fully before you start to get moving Inshallah!

@manzar2: Brother I am no scholar of Islam, but i just want to share my opinion. Well, when we pass in front of a graveyard, we say "As Salaam u'Alaikum Ya Ahl al qaboor". but they are dead, then why can't we say Ya for Rasool e Akram Saww.
Since I said earlier I am no scholar. So, kindly ask some Mufti for this question's answer.
Rest Allah knows better.
But I dont think Allah Ta'ala will punish us for this thing.

If our prophet has instucted us to do something or say something, then comply and for god sake move on, the prophet did not say or practice the building of shrines and deviant practices, the prophet did not instruct us to ask the deceased for anything, instead we are to make duaa for the deceased for their forgiveness and that Allah protects them from the hellfire, whether they are pious or sinfull regardless !

It is not the saying of the "YA" that is in Question, it is the reason or intent behind it or what you decide to also attach to it, and what its knock on effect it will have on your faith and others !
It is just like the shias, their religion revolves round Karbala, so therefore their religion is "Karballa", so can you understand that this "YA" business and the "deceased" is becoming your religion !

@manzar2: beside all this who can forget that Allah SWT addresses Rasool e Akram SAWW in Qura'an as Ya Ayuhal Muddassir and Ya Ayu Hal Muzammil.
And these are all tertiary differences, main thing is to hold 'the Rope of Allah"(which is also a name of Rusool e Ara'abi SAWW) tightly.

@Tufaylghurabaa The Prophet used to call out to people of the graves saying "Ya Ahlal Quboor" - Surely the Prophet knows better. Calling out to people was never shirk. You can keep your twisted logic with you - we dont need it. Shirk is related to worship and not to calling out :) Shirk is associating partners to Allah in worship. It all depends on the neeyah behind the calling and not the calling out itself....
