I remember in this game and maybe in 98, when a shorthanded goal was scored, the way the play by play guy was saying "He scores shorthanded!" you could sense that he was truly appalled. It was hilarious.

I don't remember if it was this one or 98 that if you held down the shoot button and didn't let go the player wouldn't shoot it but the goalie would go down and you just had to wait until you were on the open side. I would score 10 goals a game.

@R0Y4LTYK1D My first game was NHL 98 - i was 8 years old turning 9 because i would get it for x-mas each year.

I only wish i could enjoy EAs nhl series now as much as i did as a kid but i simply can't. The gameplay is great and playing with a friend is the best, but the franchise and BAP mode (which i wanted forever) simply lack the depth and realism to keep me interested in it. If only i was still 8 years old...or 13 :)
