I heard this song on the radio with mum when digital TV wasn't there, just 6 channels on a regular TV. Wow, I would like to be back in my past: note to self: watch old videos of the 90s, Pulp Fiction and Frankenstein, listen to The Corrs, The Offspring, Kraftwerk, my old techno songs, Bam, & read herb & spice book, ethical eating book, the Universe books I lost, and erotic sex book, and Karma Sutra, hooray I'm living in the past!
I started listening to this song when I was 16 ... and now I'm 66!!! I feel sorry for all the kids now who were not able to experience these songs and those days. So exciting ...
@PikPobedy Too bad Phil was mentally unstable because the man was a Musical Genius.
The man made Girl Group's Famous and with the Wall of Sound his Musical Genius would have taken him further than it did. He did make many ladies famous, He had 25 top 40 hits in the mid 1960's
and worked with many other musicians and music writers
@yerekhunt.......Seriously Bro .I feel this in every bone in my body every time I hear it ...I had never heard of the 'Wall of sound' .Could be I was there and did not understand .Thank's.
@TheRadicalLiberal.............You talk electricity, and I know where you are.In the mid 60s if they knew I was dancing to this they would hook me up to the electric grid to supliment the power. No pulse recorded.I think my gyrations were enough to mix concrete. Now at 73 I think some must have set in my nether regions.
Wow - like electricity running up and down my spine. You just cannot hear this without your pulse going up to about 160 and your body can't help but move.
And people today have the pathetic no talent Britney Spears as a poor substitute.
@LuneyTune72 WHO CARES????? Nobody hired you as the spelling police of the internet, and for what it's worth it's "Looney Tunes". All anyone has to do is watch a Warner Brothers cartoon intro to see that.
@beatlefanatic6670 Nope, I didn't say anything offensive. The title is incorrect. The uploader has no reason to feel bad. Anyways, are you following me? You just picked a fight with me on some Monkees video. You seriously didn't even read my original comment because the guy you are defending is attacking me for being surprised that The Monkees could play their songs when the Wrecking Crew musicians were the recorded performers.
I'm normally of the type that just headbangs slowly to the music i listen to, but this stuff sure makes me wanna jump around and sing along like a mad xD
Lip synching was pretty much standard on TV shows in those days. It was thought that the audience at home and in the studio would be disappointed if they heard a performance of a favorite hit that sounded different from the recorded version they were hearing on the radio and playing on their record player.
@aslansalive I'm just about to go back in time and test my time machine, you'll know if i've succeeded if Hitler lost the second world war and everybody speaks English.
@aslansalive 31??? This music had been gone a LONG time in 1979 even when you were born all that was around was disco.... this music was gone in the late 60's, Even the Beatles were doing acid rock. Good Old Phil Spector the Murderer made this stuff,He knew Music though. But your right NO Music around today,Just Trashville pop singers sickening not music!
@packingten yeah that's the point.. i wasn't around when this stuff was in it's hayday. i wouldn't be making a comment from first hand experience on music that was popular *in the same year as my birth* anyway ;)
Do whatever you want , the worlds going to hell in a handbasket , today North Korea is talking bout starting a nuclear war , everyone in the US is broke and being forclosed , people politically HATE each other and "Don't b Nostalgic" ????Well why not says I . Im nostalgic for 5 years ago...
This song was written by Phil Spector and a lady. I don't remember her name. I read in a newspaper that she died last week (august 2009) RIP.
RIP also to the lady that PS killed.
And what a real pity that a man who has made so much to a whole music loving generation now is for long time in jail because of that. But we cannot rewind the time.
