@starshooter10 Did you ever remove your baffles? I'm thinking about doing this to my GF's ZX6E same year as yours actually. I just wanted to know if you had any success and if it required any rejetting or just ran well without them.
@piano3man I did actually... all you need to do is drill out 3 rivets and pull off the end cap. then drill away thenyou can reinstall the endcaps with some pop rivets.
I personally took a saw to mine and REALLY opened it up, ended up being too loud so i tried to put some perferated steel on the back of the endcaps... it didnt help much still a tad on the loud side, similar to a big name can with no baffle (think yoshi or leo vince with no baffle) I would do it again .. .I didnt need to jet.
@starshooter10 Thanks for the response, I actually found a forum post from zx6e .net and ended up doing the mod. My GF and I are very very happy with this FREE modification(that's the best part next to the sound). To anyone else I also did not require any rejetting and the sound is awesome! I highly recommend this mod.
I have an 03 zx6e also and to remove the baffles from the stock exhaust you need to drill out all the pop rivets and physically cut the can open and cut them out. My bro did it to his and it was quite a bit of work to do... Sounded pretty bloody awesome tho! but his cans looked a little shabby after he put them back together... My bro IS a bit of a noob keeping in mind!
was a little hessitant to "whore out" my stock cans...
after seeing a link to this vide from ZX6e.net I almost ran to the garage :P
I bored it out good and LOVE the sound but its a few more DB's then I'd like...
gonna but some perferated steel to try and quite it down some while keeping the sound..
thanks for sharing!
oh yeah, 95 ZX6"E"
