Crysis ain't an amazing multiplayer game, and the story is thin as a piece of paper, but halo's plot is about as generic as anything else out there. Saying the story is classic is just short of moronic. There are very few fps games that have a good story, and halo is not one of them.

an 8800 GTX is NOT needed to run this well.

the 8800 is already released, and not only is it cheaper than a GTX, it is cheaper than a GTS. being at 280 dollars, it is the best option for DX10 right now. better than the GTS 640mb, and only trailing the GTX by a few points on most benchmarks, it actually beat or met the GTX in quite a few benchmarks

oced means overclocked, its when you make something faster than the factory made it, the core 2 duos are very good for overclocking. you need a good bios that lets you overclock well though, just google anything yournot sure of.

im buying a new pc for 2000, but im getting a core 2 duo e6700 OCed to 3.4 ghz 4gb of 1066mhz ram and 2 8800 ultras 680i mobo and thermaltake case. lol, looks like im getting more value for money :P except this is excluding the 24 inch monitor im ordering tomorrow, ive saved up so much money and decided to buy a pc, i have never had a gaming pc. recommended requirements dont mean anything. I meet the recommended requirements for Company of Heroes but If I try to play it max settings on DX10 mode I get like 15 frames per second. Thats unplayable jackass. Even if I had 2 8800GTXs in SLI I dont think you could run this game max settings. And good luck running on a puny 6600 or 7600. Aint gonna happen.
