  • Classic adverts from a quarter of a century ago including Heineken and Irn-Bru which is or was a Scottish soft drink. That slogan 'Made In Scotland From Girders' was the subject of a song a little later in the 1980s.

  • Allowing for inflation, that petrol would be roughly 67p / litre today. I look at the sweets, larger and hair produces and think the world has scarcely changed, but moving around now costs double what it did then... :(

  • I do confess to gelling and moussing my hair most bizarrely in the 1980s... so did a lot of my friends. Mind you, we were teens/twenty-somethings - a bit younger than French and Saunders. lol!

  • More innocent times...

  • Looks like Irn Bru stole an old joke from Benny Hill there.

That L'oreal advert looked stupid even at the time! I recall French & Saunders doing a spoof - "Do you want your hair to look ridiculus?".

  • lol this was my 3rd birthday!

  • ohhh i love the 80s

  • Is that David Thewlis AGAIN as the weasely Roman legionaire. He did quite a few ads.

  • remember french and saunders spoofed that studio line advert with a product called stupid.

  • I can remember that Heineken 'binmen' one. And Irn Bru - a kind of non-alcoholic version of the Heineken ads really.
