No. I understood the science before i watched this video. All he had to do was show a graph showing the frequency and wavelengths and explain their effect. Then explain that light is a wave and particle.
He trys to say too much with the history, the questioning and the old problems people didn't understand. Most people can't take in loads of pointless information.
Also saying lines like "he couldn't understand it" really doesn't help if you want people to understand you.
History is exactly what the point of the lecture is. History of physics. Lecture One, Lord Kelvin estimated
Earth's age at 20 million years. Kelvin didn't couldn't know of radioactivity.
The lecture is designed to target the audience, young people. This isn't a lecture of advanced quantum physics to an audience of post graduate students. They already know this stuff. You, we, me should be so lucky.
The way he explains things makes it so confusing. Instead of just saying how it is he spins and weaves the facts round all kinds of nonsense.
