This is great! Thank you very much for posting this. I'm seriously considering buying the game... however I've been dissuaded by the amount and cost of the DLC. It seemed like they inundate the market with over-priced DLC packs, otherwise I probably would have bought the game by now. Can you tell me if there are any routes along New York States' Hudson River Valley? Thanks again!
@CPLWeeks I'm happy you have enjoyed the video. The game is great and it is expansive. Yes the DLC's are expensive especially the Acela and Northeast Corridor DLC, it's basically a game all in itself. My advice is to just get the DLC pack that really peaks your interests if you buy RailWorks. Railwork have nice routes by itself that you can enjoy. There is no NYS Hudson River Valley yet, but it would be nice to have.
@palacios185 People will have different opinions on this site, it does not upset me. The video gets between 100 to 300 hits a day which is pretty good so it's a pretty popular video. Bro, please do not use the word "nigga". I really hate when I heard the knuckleheads in my neighborhood use that name to conversate with each other let alone being referred to that in these postings. Thanks.
@palacios185 My system is an custom built AMD 965 Quad Core with 8 Gigs of RAM. The video cards are 2x 9800 GTX's in SLI. The route was designed by Railworks.
@thetrainguy1 It's ok dude. People do have their own opinion, it does not upset me. Like I said before some people are just purist and they want to see simulations handled like the real deal. Thanks for the comment.
Love the video, I'm curious about something. Why do people take this sim so seriously. It seem alot of people think this simulator is the next best thing since the wheel. I admit it's a cool sim and it has a few things that other sims don't but at the end of the day. It's not real, unless your really able to control a Acela HSEL (High Speed Electric Locomotive) from your computer then all it is at the end of the day is a nice way to relax and enjoy the different views of train travel.
@tormax38 Hi, some people are just purist. They want total realism whether they control it and someone else does. I do like realism but sometimes I just enjoy looking at the train perform, it relaxing to me. Sometimes I take the bull from the horns and control the locomotive like in real life. Some people think the Acela is easy to control, but it's really not that. The important thing to remember especially in high speed routes is to know the route well or you will crash it.
To you it is a game to me it is a simulation. There is a profound difference. I trained on the Southern Pacific Simulator (Boeing made) in Cerritos, CA, when I was a fireman with SPTCo. At that time, they urged us to take it seriously, so I do. I didn't mean to insult you and rereading my text obviously I did. I am sorry. I just think if you are going to the trouble of making a 45" long video the longest I've ever seen for RW12 or MSTS that you'd improve the vid by removing the 'driving aid'.
@xhoghead48 Listen, I KNOW this is a sim. The reason why I ran it the way I did was because I wanted to video different views of the train as it travels. The panel made it easier to change the video views and control the train at the same time. Yes it's not realistic driving, no big deal. I am not planning to drive the real locomotive. I use this sim to relax and enjoy the running of the trains. I'm not mad at you buddy. The next video I will run it prototypical the way it should for you.
Why would you keep the stupid 'driving aid' in the way the entire trip? When I run a train in RW12 the first thing I do is get rid of it. Takes up a lot of space on screen, isn't needed, isn't realistic, and it's plain dumb. Operate the train, like in real RRing, from the locomotive's controls not some stupid 'driving aid'. You ruined your own video from the start. I didn't watch it any more time than it took me to realize you kept it in the way. Too bad a waste of 3/4 of an hour. You blew it.
hey beautiful video really enjoyed it, dude i have a question for you please reply back :/ have you came across like an error that said "something bad has happened" and how do you fix it :/ if you can please help me :[
@SkyEatsSpaceShip Come to find out as hate would have it last night I experienced that error for the first time! How it came about I was editing a scenario and I think I was in and out of the scenerio edit numerous times. Which I believe the game did not like and it froze on me. I task manager out of the game and sure enough there was the error you mentioned. I managed to get that error twice messing with the scenario editing.
@OmegaDeus8467 Seriously? Wow man that sucks its really a pain in the ass, my specs on my computer might be to low to load some of the trains and scenarios, but I'm not to sure, I did a bunch of things like verify and installed the game numerous of time and still got no where. I went to forums to see if anyone else had problems like this and people have but didn't say how it was fixed and if they gave suggestion believe me i did everything under the sun to try and get this fix and nothing.
@SkyEatsSpaceShip So what is the specs on your system? What kind of video card are you running? Do your system have at least 4GB of RAM? I find that 8GB the sim runs much better with less shuttering. As for the error, how I stopped it so far is to exit out of the scenario totally then I go back in through the main menu. I believe the problem is how the game allocates the memory when it goes in and out of scenarios in my case. My question to you is when this error comes about for you?
@OmegaDeus8467 Well I have 4gb of ram and I have a gForce 8800 GT. I might need an upgrade I just need to invest and have a budget but that's something different. But when I got it I believe 4 days ago, I loaded it up and than I noticed a lag so I quit and started it up no lag ok... so after I wanted to play a diesel train I think the super speed one, I chose free roam and than it was loading and it said that, but this is happening with about 75% of my trains and tracks soo yah not to sure :/
@SkyEatsSpaceShip Hmm, strange. There are some things you may want to try; First do a maintenance on your machine like defragging your hard drive, updating and scanning for viruses, and cleaning on your hard drive of junk. I use CCleaner and Tuneup Utilities 2012 for maintenance all the time. Also update your sound and video drivers to the latest version. In the game make sure you turn off the TSX graphics enhancement. This will speed up the game a lot.
@SkyEatsSpaceShip You may need a hardware upgrade as well. Memory is cheap at the moment so you can add that extra 4GB. This helps this game tremendously. There are so Nvidia settings for this game as well which makes RailWorks run much better, even probably better with the hardware you currently have. But unfortunately I lost the website...
@OmegaDeus8467 yeah im proboly gonna get it tonight or tomorrow i really want this game cuz i love trains and i plan to be a amtrak engineer when i get out of high school
@TheJramos1970 Hi, it is pretty good when it comes to the real thing. It could be better or more polish in certain areas. I would like to see more dynamic scenarios especially in commuter routes and tighten up the graphics a little more. Thanks for the comment.
@OmegaDeus8467 I have msts, but this game here looks way better. I'm actually thinking about getting it. I'm in the middle of doing some research, I have to make sure my computer could handle all those graphics. This one and the Horseshoe Curve route, is what I've been waiting for....
@TheJramos1970 MSTS is an old girl but still good. Too bad Microsoft scrubed MSTS 2 twice! Idiots... Anyway, yes make sure the graphic card or cards are up to snuff. I currently have 2 GTX 9800+ running SLI and it's long in the tooth. The graphics you see in this video is not at the max. Plus Fraps slowed it down a bit as well. I have the Horseshoe but I did not run that scenario fully yet. I may just film that run as well.
