The floor tom sounds great for the groove in my opinion, it's supposed to mimic the surdo drum. I'm not sure if you did this or not, but I couldn't hear it; one thing about sambas on the kit is that the bass drum should be played on the 'uh' of each beat as well as the first note of each beat. Hi-hat is fine on the and's, good pick on that. Is that a caixa you have mounted on your kit?

a caixa is a samba snare drum - i dont have one of those jus my regular snare - the drum with the white head mounted on my kit is a repinique - wihich is a lead drum in a samba band used often to make calls for breaks etc

i did ony do a single hit with the bass drum - i was aware it should of been 2 like a heart beat but at the time it was too much to do - if i did that it messed my hands up lol

well its good but brunobarb was kinda right. ur supposed to use the bell of the ride because from brazil, it represents the cowbell. now was that a samba beat or solo kinda thing?

it was more an evolution from a samba BAND rather than a piece from drum set.. some people along here have been way to picky.. its a good clean beat. i do admit i ghit that ride WAY too hard at the end there.. it still scares the shit outta me if i listen through ha headset.... i kinda started clickin the pause or stop button right b4 it lol

this is exactly it. i am trying to emulate the sound of a samba band rather than a samba especially made for the drum set. drum set samba does often carry a double beat on the bass drum and i tried this origionally with a double beat and it sounded too heavy- too many drums going at once so thats why its a single beat here

yeah ... ok ... i could do annything on a drum and call it samba then (thats youre point of view)... GRAB ANY BOOK, ANY INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEOS, TALK TO ANY PROFESSIONAL DRUMMERS and they will tell/show/demonstrate that SAMBA is categorized by 2 bass bass drum hits in each mesure... CALL IT ROCK and ill be more vigilant to youre video, but calling it samba ... when you cant even do the cymbal hits correctly and the bass drum hits with the snare correctly is just anything ...

that is a repiniue - a samba drum mainly used to lead street samba percussion bands... that one is handmade and i just made a couple of adjustments to put it on my kit....

lol thats not really hard it was nice but there harder beats like i have to play one were i rim click a beat and use the floor tom to play another beat with my right hand while doing a extremly hard bass drum beat and doing a another emtremly hard beat with my high hat
