  • It 1981

  • 0:33 - SHE'S HAVING A SEIZURE I THINK!!

  • I've never played a more frustrating arcade style game than Missle Command...God I hate that game.

  • AM i only one who gets shivers when they say "ATARIIIII"?

  • man pepole is going crazy while playing the atari in this commercial

  • @orbitoverthesun You must be about 10 years old playing cod4 like a zombie. This is how games used to make people feel. A time when games were games.

  • @bazfanv2 dude i own an atari and im not 10 im 18 and i love it better than call of duty

  • Discover how far it can go! IT'S NOT LIKE THE FRIGGN' THING HAS WHEELS!!

  • @super58173 Neither does time , but it keeps going.

  • we've came a long way.

  • atariiiiiiiiiiii

  • R.I.P. Atari

  • Is that Jack Palance as the voiceover?

  • @SirDrexl Yuppers. Mr. Palance also did the voiceover for another version of this commercial known as the Atari Prism ad. Incidentally, Atari also has several adverts starring Alan Alda from MASH.

  • Ooo! They mentioned "Missle Command!" I loved Missle Command!

  • 0:46 lolz

  • look at 10th seccond. it is bill gates :D

  • The best game on Atari was Pole Position. They had an updated version on XBOX at school and I played Pole Position everyday.

  • @zshaw7549 Don't forget Archon, Moon Patrol or Montesuma.

  • yer all wet. Keystone Capers was the Bomb Hiznee...

  • i cant belive that was the shit back then.

i played atari before and there are only a handful of games i liked. the nes is the real deal for old gameing systems.

  • Atari rules.

  • only some games were good

  • That's all just preference, really.

  • ok but if atari was so awesome why did it get shot down by nintendo? (note: not trying to start a video game console fight)

  • Atari aged, but the 2600 didn't get shot-down. (At least I don't think so).

Also don't worry, I love nintendo, as well.

  • (I'm only interested in the 2600)

  • @putnamskater Atari really faded away more than "got shot down". Atari rocked out the 2600 (known as the VCS - Video Computer System) before 1982/3 when they released the 5200 which was a flop a multitude of reasons, and then released the 7800 with 8 bit graphics after the NES was released. They just lost the market control slowly over time.

  • i wonder what they would react to the wii

  • especially the girl

  • @pocky94:

theyd be like "WTF its the same as my atari 2600 with my le stick gtfo"

  • @0M9H4X ok fanboy

  • 0:34 I think she had a momentary seizure or something.

  • ikr

  • Why do people laugh about this!

    1. this computer is of 100 times higher quality than this bluescreen-crapbox we're using today... 2. this commercial is also a 100 times better then this crap we see today.... thats my opinion and i was born 1984... i don't see this old stuff as crap its just much much better than this style-less shit we've got today!

  • LOL hmmmm what would happen if i showed em my ps3 and apple laptop? god.

  • ROFL! I gotta get me one!

  • Farcry 2...only for your secretly-developed-by-the-military-computers xD

  • oh if i had a time machine i'd bring a 360 to the age of the 2600 and see wat they'd think

  • lol then came INTELEVISION lol

  • 00:34 hahhahhahaa

  • ikr the girl is like spazzing out over simple graphics. "OMG a different version of pong! foausuhwiuhsggd"

  • if they saw some guy playing a 360 with turok in it they'ed shit their pants

  • i wouldn't doubt it lol.

  • and then they would realize that all new games suck in a big lack of creativity and inspiration!

  • Agreed!

  • AS if atari was anything cool compared to intellevision

  • lol at the end "Atariiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii" lol

  • what a great system

  • wow those computer games look SOOOO advanced :P

  • for their time, yes=D

  • Atariiiiiiiiiii

  • simpler times.

  • Atari!

  • Then why does the copy write say 1981

  • the home computer in the second half of the commercial is not the atari 800xl, but the atari 800.

  • lmao!

  • The voiceover is the "ripley's believe it or not" guy!

  • am looking 4 a classic atari commercial i think a line from it is "i want the sound that curls my hair, what do you want , i want atari" anybody else remember this one?

  • Yes I remember this ad! it was from around 1991-1992. I believe it was advertising the Atari 7800

  • Any idea when this was orginally broadcast?

  • No,sorry

  • 1981 I believe. Of course that was 11 years before I was born but I have seen 1981 on other YouTube videos like this one.

  • @xiandavis 1981

  • @xiandavis tv... lol?

  • @xiandavis I think I saw a small ATARI logo on the right top of the screen at the end of the video it said it's 1981

  • @xiandavis looks like the top right says c.1981 in the commerical.

  • @xiandavis Circa 1981

  • @xiandavis look at 0:55 at the right top corner...1981.
