Problem with him as an actor is his speaking presence isnt as powerfull as his visual on screen presence which makes him seem to laid back and dull. He needs to find a way to bring out more emotion in order to connect with the audience, if he does that he can be a great actor.
I absolutely loved his character in the expendables....I feel like he was one of few guys who had actual background.... Overall the movie had potential but I felt it didnt live up to expectations.
I really want to see this movie. I really miss 80's action movies. I was a kid in the 80's, but that's the stuff I grew up with, gotta love it. I miss these movies full of action, testosterone and shit being blown up really good. This movie will kick major ass!
basically i would see this movie if it just had Dolph as the bad guy. that would be enough. one of the best, maybe THE best, 80's action movie villains. they basically sold one movie ticket just on the shot of him picking a guy up to impale him on a pole.
lol, Jet Li and Statham are the young ones... there's not a top-billed member of the cast under, what, 36? 38?
Loyalty goes a long way. It's great too see Sly giving Dolph another opportunity to star in another film. I can't wait to see the fight scene between Dolph and Jet Li.
i cannot wait for this film, i loveeeee almost everybody in it, all great actors, this shud be awesome, and by the sounds and looks of it, dolph is going back to his universal soldier charactor, it looks like he has the cocky attitude in fight scenes, even same type of clothes and personality, so this shud be amazing, shame for sly tho, he cant speak too great these days can he
So looking forward to this epic action star ensemble picture. Something about the quick and deadly Jet Li versus the slower and powerful Dolph has me dying to see it. Bring it Happy Feet!
@Rickertt wow...have you not seen the new Rambo, under the same production company? search on youtube the Red Band Trailer for John Rambo....that came out over a year before the movie was released, same amount of violence
I've always liked Dolph Lundgren, he's such a really powerful presence on the screen...I think he should try being in an epic film set in Ancient Rome or Greek mythology or something...he would have been great in movies like "Troy" or "Jason and the Argonauts" or something
@CesMan83 he can act ...he just got type cast into tough guy roles cuz he'sa big scary lookin dude..too bad hollywood doesnt have more diversity in their roles
They are thinking about doing a sequel/prequel thing with the 300 movie. I think it would be great if Dolph Lundgren and Gerald Butler is in. It was so hard as hell. And I would mind with the right script, great director, to make a comedy/Pure action film of Duke Nukem starring Dolph Lundgren.

Dolph speaks of being wacked out and drugged out i think mickey would have fit that bill better just becuz of his past roles and he looks alot more unstable and he just seeths mischief
Im watching the expenables opening day for sure, this is probably the only film from the new millenium ive really gotten exited about along with rambo. Dolphs really inspiring, to make a comeback with a film as huge as the expendables is unbelievable, i wish him best of luck.
Hahaha "I don't like that guy". Really looking forward to this flick and Lundgren is right in that as it approaches release ppl will be like "holy shit" Sly & Dolph... awesome!!!

Who is the most underrated actor of all-time?
It's Dolph Lundgren.
Correct, why?
It's because of his spikey hair, his big muscles, and his ice cold demeanor.

the film is really violent, FUCK YEAH ITS ABOUT TIME, LONG LIVE THE 80 AND 90 THE GOLDEN AGE OF ACTION CINEMA

Except it may been cut down to pg-13, because "of the recent success of pg-13 movies" so scrap your golden age violent movie idea.
