I may be too late but... this happened on my Xbox too. Turns out my ide chord wasn't all the way it.. it's apparently a simple fix but I have no idea what an ide chord is, my brother fixed it for me. Hope that helps at all..?

@missteenwordpower5 the IDE cable is the grey data transfer cable that plugs into both the DVD Drive and The Harddrive

Could be the Hard Drive had clicking problems and powered off, or the PCB Logic Board is dead. My Xbox Hard Drive's PCB Logic Board was fried in one, small spot; however, I need to get an EEPROM Reader for the old Xbox to make it work again, and this time, with a bigger hard drive (20+GB).

@reggienuva183 the xbox was set to PAL 60 and what ever unit was used to record from the xbox didnt support it.
