Thank you very much, you solved my issue. I don't the use the "grouped" function in the taskbar in Windows 7, and I like to use small icons so it looks more like classic versions of Windows. When I opened Messenger it annoyed me to see that two task blocks of Messenger appeared.

this is just plain weird, Ihad messenger live installed since last november on windows 7 and behaved as it was supposed to, but last 2 days it started doing this annoying thing, I didn't install any update so, nothing really changed, oh well it's working now, thanks
