"I ain't been to 'Moorhouse' or no house!"..... anybody else catch that?......... I'm so desperate for the movie, I'm even excited for videos like this. By the way, I thought this was pretty cool.
Ok... this sucks! It's like it was done by someone who read the Cliff's Notes instead of the series. Throw this garbage out!! His guns and his eyes are two of the things most frequently described in the novel. How do you get that wrong? Kill yourselves!!
His guns are two small and the sandlewood grips are supposed to be yellow. C'mon son! People who will watch this are folks who took the time to read all seven books. For us, please do the little stuff right!!
Well the tower was down to the last four beams but since they saved the beam (Shemie said beam says thank ye!) the book implies that the beams may heal. Also, the beams never truely break because this is Roland's version of Ground Hog Day. He saves the Tower over and over again.
He smoked rolled cigarettes not cigars. He had no facial hair, his hair was dark black and he didn't walk like a chubby middle schooler trying to keep up on the way to gym class...
@Omatusano well yea they broke two of em, but at the time of the man in black being chased by Roland across the desert, there's still six. The beamquake happens in DT5, Wolves of the Calla. So please do some research before you correct people. Also, they didn't nuke them. They used the Breakers. I did "read my gunslinger" and I shall correct you because you have forgotten the face of your father.
@zakmasta15 Hey, asshole. I just read wolves in interest of what u said. There's nothing in there about breaking beams. There's something called a breaker mentioned, but no intense beam action. Kinda pissed that the entire book was about prepping for the wolves for a 6 page battle. But still a good read. Wizard and Glass is still my favorite, hopefully SoS and the DT will be better. Shoulda used Andy as a weapon against them, but as I understand, he's nuclear.
Yes but the Dark Tower is the centre of the beams, each beam has a guardian at either end. So one beam will look like two when looking at the Dark Tower.
That is a valid perspective, I suppose. Though it's worth noting that between Can'-Ka No Rey and the Tower itself, it is unlikely the beams would be able to command one's attention. In other news, they've cast Roland f-ing PERFECTLY for the films/TV series.
too young, too clean, too colorful. not enough heart put into it. after you smelled that grass, you should have looked up with the eye of the TIGER AFTER THAT MF!!! oh.. sorry. got carried away :) i think the best image of mr deschein, jake, suze, eddie, and our friend oy, will always be that of the one in our heads. that is where it should stay. great effort though. cheers.
One of the best works in the last year. Great site. Where was this filmed? I thought David was a good young Roland; maybe a bit to clean. Nice guns, wrong make, But at least they did not look like toys. Great job everyone!
@Buddmac Exactly what make of revolver Roland uses is unclear. At several points, sai King describes them as single actions, but then has Roland 'swinging out' the cylinders to reload them, a mechanical feature usually only found on doubles. artistic licence, perhaps?
@91Roadwarrior Swing out Cylinders? I missed that part, can you tell me where in the books you found that detail. I thought Roland was using an old cowboy trick of taking the cylinders out of the gun to reload. In modern cowboy games you can buy extra cylinder for SA revolvers. Still, good work.
@Buddmac It's entirely possible that he just took out the cylinders---But I seem to remember him swinging out the cylinders during the drawing of the three and Wizard and Glass to 'check if it were loaded'. Which is not easy to do with most SAA type pistols.
@91Roadwarrior yep, book 4 - wizard and glass... swing outs.. no doubt. on book 5 now, just got done w/5... not that it matters any.. the vid showed a fare of time dedicated 2 its making, 4 that i dole out props.. but 2 b real, there's several flaws.. but its def original.. better than that 1 fool's videos thet're like 5 secs long and claim 2 b a preview, and hav a screm at there end. i kno that doesn't mean much, but i found it nonetheless entertaining.. peace
GREAT work. But I gotta say this: Roland (from my point of view) it´s a demon-like men. Everytime you read about him, I have a cold drip of cold sweat in my neck. I fucking love Roland...but somehow I´m afraid of I´m. The guy playing Roland gives me the idea that I´m seeing a boy who tries to be bad-ass. Here´s a little chart: 1 - Wimp 2 - Nerd 3 - Average 4 - Normal 5 - Bully 6 - Bad-Ass 7 - Dangerous Person 8 - Sick Person 8 - Assasin, rapist 9 - Fucked off, sick guy 10 - Roland Deschain.
He did a good young version of him and remember he did go through some hard times before he met Walter O'dim remember the little sisters of eluria if you read the books you should know the story really begins there because it does talk about the other love and it clears some up info in book four of wizards and glass .
i agree with you on that , because in book four in wizard and glass , remember how it talks about him and his friends when he was young, and how his fought in the town and canyon for the towns folk to get out ,This reminds me when it was only him left there . And his pursuit began for the Dark tower .

Well, 'just need to find the right door! Seriously, if this saga ever comes to the screen, I hope that it's done as an HBO series. It's just too damned big for a feature, or even a series of them. I said the same thing about 'The Watchmen' and think that the movie proved me right.
bel lavoro in generale, ma l'interpretazione di roland la trovo pessima... altro che pistolero, appare fiacchissimo e la camminata è più da impiegato con le scarpe troppo grosse :)
only a few problems(very good video nontheless!!!)
you misspronounced Cuthbert, it's like "Key-youth-bert." that and roland not looking old enough, but that's it. great video though. you shot at some awesome locations. very very convincing

the idea is that he is seeing the Dark Tower as he will inevitably see it with his own eyes. So it is from the last book where there are four beams.
