  • Of course,I never learned how to do it form this album because I didn't have it to begin with.

  • lol my dad is in this commercial....needless to say he's pretty hammered.

  • shut up! no thats my dad!

  • The Bird Dance was 1982's Macarena!

  • The original version "De vogeltjesdans" was performed by Dutch act Electronica's. The single came out in June 1980 and peaked at #8 on the Dutch charts (it was the 2nd best selling single of 1980 in the Netherlands). Then in 1981, it was a huge hit in Germany under the title "Dance Little Bird". The song was #1 for 8 weeks on the German Top 75.

  • This is the cheesiest thing in creation. I thought birds couldn't lactate.

  • We have the 'Europeans' to blame for the Bird Dance!

  • and it originally started in crazy Netherlands

  • My Grandparents bought this when it came out. I couldn't believe how lame and stupid it was. Yikes!

  • @ftyjhghjk Now we got Kids' Bop which is as cheesy as it is.

  • gotta love white people

  • I made this commercial...

the band members were shot at a dance just outside of Edmonton and the dancing part was shot at the Viscount Gort Hotel...

    Brought back memories

  • "It's more fun than you ever thought possible"

  • Always a favorite at socials...

  • Duh duh duh duh duh duh duh

Duh duh duh duh duh duh duh

Duh duh duh duh duh duh duh

    THE RANGERS SUCK!

  • Cheesy brilliance!

  • A 12" record with 20 versions of the same song, or were there others?

  • I had this in the early 80's, got it as a junk Christmas gift- it had one bird dance song- very long in time, a dance step guide narrated in synch with the music afterward, and then it was just various polka, waltz, music by the same band. I couldn't get into it much as at the time I loved Heavy Metal- but it was funny!

  • The bird dance even made a record album in the 1980's!

Nice costumed walkaround birds and chickens! Could have been used in the Hi-Lex TV commercial.
