Its important they get recognized for all of the blood, sweat & tears they put in to this amazing show. THEY ROCKED IT TO STATE BECAUSE THEY'RE JUST THAT CREATIVE, BALANCED AND BEYOND THEIR POTENTIAL.

You can tell they worked very hard & that they were having FUN. They didnt join Marching Band to impress alumni; they did it because they wanted to have fun and because they loved what they were doing.

And at Kettering Fairmont, they dont do it Centerville High School's way, that's Centerville's job. They do it the Marching Firebirds way & if that includes 50 to 60 brass players (THAT ROCK) than so be it.

That show has so much potential for creativity but it seems like the same old fairmont "song and dance." The brass really overplays as well. There are 50-60 brass players? They need blend and balance not edgy tone. I hate to say it (being a Fairmont alum) but this was less than impressive.

A good example of taking a theme and running with it is Centerville's "Wired" show. They use many tools to present the ideas of computers, electricity, ect. The drill fits with the theme as does the body work and audio effects. However, I will give credit where it is due. Fairmont's concert band program is VERY good. This may be exactly what Mike Berning is trying to create. A marching program is nothing without a concert program. But there is definately untapped potential for the band.

i like the show! it's very cool. i'm from GC & we went last year to this. you guys play some of this one song in our show like the clarinet solo (our soloist is a clarinet but i'm not sure if it's one for you.)
