  • I'd say the view at 3:20 is pretty good from here lol.

  • elektrinate has some synthesizers to fall *EVIL GRIN*

  • Which song did they play after this one?

  • @anemone77 I think Head Like a Hole, not quite sure though.

  • @kefka242 @anemone77 They played Eraser as this performance was before the "slow section". They closed the show with Something I Can Never Have.

  • This song is so much better live

  • nine inch nails sound so much better live.... which is a big compliment considering the quality of their entire back catalogue

  • Stagehands/roadies: "ahhhhh, fuck this shit."

  • 6:40 Trent and Robin fighting over who gets to fuck the keyboard up with Robin's guitar!

  • i wish i was the keyboard :)

  • I never got to see NIN before Trent became a happy guy. Now the old material sucks live. I (was) the lover in the bed (and I don't control you) I (was) the bullet in the gun (but now I'm nice) ... pfff. Good for him that he is clean and put his s#t together, but the old material just plain sucks.

  • he always held his balls when he was singing...I'm not complaining about it, just kinda curious why. would they explode?

  • @lllFuzzBoxlll btw, that keyboard humping is spectacular.

  • I have no idea what they were doing at 7:27 ,but for some reason that looked sexy as hell to me

  • Why did i have to be three years old when this happened?

  • @OfficialACFilms Pft, that's no excuse. : P

  • the 90's rocked!

  • Finck to Reznor: You throw my guitar? I smash your synth!

  • There are fates worse than death, and being a keyboard for Nine Inch Nails during this tour is one of them.

  • this was the days!

  • Oh, Trent ♥

  • Robin beat the shit out of the keyboard

  • drunk trent was quite the entertainer :)

  • SLAVE SCREAM!

  • these keyboards act only as MIDI-controllers for triggering the notes. all sounds are stored in the backstage hardware. people are not idiots to smash up their racks with samplers and amplifiers

  • he looks pretty flexible at 3:13

  • saw trent trashin' keys like this in Albany, NY 1994. good times... same show, work boot thrown at chris vrenna near end of head like a hole. house lights came on and the encore didn't happen. show over... chris was hit in the head days before by trent w/the bottom of mic stand. basically, the work boot fucked up chris' head again and he was all done, and that was it. normallly, NIN encore was four more songs in '94 for the self-destruct tour.

  • hey guys check out biles cover of this, its pretty amazing.

  • total anarchy lol

  • i wonder how much those key boards are worth, i mean they smash like 3 a night back in the day.

  • alice cooper drank away a fortine

trent reznor blow a fortine breaking keyboards...he's soo cool! =D!

  • Don't worry, they were just chunks of worhless plastic shit, like all musical instruments.

  • right........

  • damn musical instruments! Giving Rap music a bad name!

  • @booshins the only keyboards Trent snashed were ones that werent that expensive or ones that were at the end of their life you know? lol it makes the show fuckin cool

  • Such a scary/evil song!!! NIN the heaviest band of the 90's!!

  • This was the Maple Leaf Gardens show. Also, you're an asshole.

  • It was the Maple Leaf Gardens show. I was there. Jim Rose circus side and Marlynn Mason were there to open. One of the best shows I saw in the 90's.

  • THIS IS BREATHTAKING

  • Jim Dangle shorts FTW

  • Comment removed

  • Viejos tiempos....me da nostalgia

  • Those shorts are awfully short.

  • how f@%&ing awesome is this?! they're coming to portugal in july, I AM SO THERE!!!

  • intense

  • trent did a split on that mother fucking keyboard.....he teabagged it

  • god i wish he would play at least a few songs from every cd live that would be perfect....both times i have seen them they never played a single song from the fragile and happiness in slavery is my fav...never seen them play that

  • Happiness in Slavery is from the Broken EP

  • I've never seen Trent rock that hard. Awesome.

I hope I get to see him in concert someday...can't fathom the fact that he will retire eventually /weeps

  • That keyboard got FUCKED UP! absolutely demolished.

  • Would love to see this live again. Ah well Trent doesn't do a lot of these from PHM and Broken anymore.

  • brilliant!!

  • may god bless whoever taped this song

  • @shanebaby07 lol, god.

  • Now think about it, they did shit like this at EVERY concert!

  • I was like 12 or so when all this happened. Too bad I never understood the importance and the power of these kinds of songs until the late nineties when music all went to shit. As much as I like to have said I was there, I wasn't. Thanks for putting up the vids for those of us that didn't get to live these moments.

  • I was at this show in 94. Manson was on the bill too. This remains possibly the best NIN show I have ever seen. Novemeber this year will be my 11th time seeing them since 91.

BLESS YOU aNimuS07 for getting this on video. I was overjoyed to see this memory was captured by someone. Peace!

  • i rem when mm had the dice 666 set up good times in 94

  • SLAVE SCREAMS!!!!!!!!

  • i'm 43 years old and,was in toronto in '94 ... love this trent, damnd...

  • i can never get enough of this show. the way robin does NOT stop hitting that thing, and turns in circles, and trent destroyes everything, and they fall over... omg omg omg...

  • i feel lucky to have been 13 when all of this was going on. we were introduced to NIN, TooL, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Portishead, Soundgarden, Rage Against the Machine, Helmet, Radiohead, the list goes on and on and on. too bad music is god awful these days. not much has come in the past ten years that's worth a damn except for these old bands when they release an album. The Mars Volta isn't that bad.

  • I agree with you there. New music is pretty lame. I wish I could go back and see trent in his prime. I was 10 almost eleven when this show went down. I'd give anything for a time machine to go back and see them at that stage of their careers.

The sad part is, Rage (for the most part), soundgarden, nirvana, a.i.c., none of these bands are around anymore, and we have nothing quite like them today.

Tool, N.I.N. & Pearl Jam are easily the best bands still around. The Best concerts I've ever seen

  • BRILLIANT, I saw Kentish Town (UK) forum twice that tour (1994) and I was right down in the front row! Bruises aside, it changed my life, no kidding.

  • wish I was in Toronto in 1994

  • That was indus-fucking-trial...wish I was born earlier than 1989, though I love Year Zero and The Slip

  • yeahh..industrial-rock-n-roll

  • Trent is so fuckin amazing.

  • ohhhh you fucking slavvvvvvvves

  • Cocaine is a hell of a drug.

  • yea it is, but his drug of choice was heroin. it makes cocaine seem like fuckin grass

  • bwebbh - capital LOLZ.

  • We are Generation X

  • Damn I was only 3 years old when this was on haha

  • luanswan2002: You gotta admit we had some badass concerts, eh? The first concert I ever went to was NIN/Manson/Jim Rose Circus in 1994--on HALLOWEEN, no less. Aside from getting kicked in the head 3 times (which is probably why I turned out so fucked up--I was only 14, lol), it was a badass show.

  • I was around 2 years old!

It's concerts like this which make me wish i was born in the 70's (: Or lived in America.

  • Nothing wrong with a 3 year old rocking lol :< , too bad we would be too short to see trent HAHA

  • i was born 1976, beyotch!

  • well this tour was going on the year I was born.

  • Woah, Robing Finck killed all in that clip...

  • Not many people know this, but Trent was molested by a keyboard as a child.

  • hahaha so true

  • xD that's great can I quote that sometime?

  • @bwebbh yeah he told me the other day how what a trajedy

  • always have loved this song

  • I was at the show. Best show ever. Period.

  • haha silly, manson could never scream.

  • Druggy Trent sure was sexy... (he still is in my book!)but i care about his health and i'm happy that he's clean now. But, it's entertaining to see him jump and break things in the '90s!(march of the pigs video!) Luv ya trent!

  • God Thank you to who ever posted this. This is Trent and Nine Inch Nails at their best. Trent has such an energy here. Something that you don't see form other performers, including himself today. This is what made me love Nine Inch Nails.

  • The funny thing is..they were destroying their equipment and they were nowhere near the end of their set.

  • No fucking way....what they have alot of extra keyboards backstage and other stuff to do this? How can you do this and not attrit all your gear for the next show? They couldn't of had that much money, them keyboards don't cost chump change.

  • No fucking way....what they have alot of extra keyboards backstage and other stuff to do this? How can you do this and not attrit all your gear for the next show? They couldn't of had that much money, them keyboards don't cost chump change.

  • In Closure there was a segment on Trent destroying keyboards. He broke so many keyboards during the self-destruct tour..and did it during fragility and the newer tours occasionally.

  • he busted up more keyboards than he did during the fragility tours... i'm sure it became way to fuckin' expensive to repair or purchase other keyboards in the process while they was out on the road!!! just look at the stage show the had back in the day!!! it was like a smorgasbord of smashed dx-7 keyboards all over the stage!!! his shows aren't visceral as they use to be; i guess that's because of being money conscious and also being older too!!!

  • They said they did quick cash in bigger shows to support smaller venues (wich they love more) nad their habit of breaking equipment.

  • its because it sells, for every keyboard hes destroying, another 100 people will appear at a show to see him completely obliterate the set, no thats 100 people times each show in america and england and other countries lets say 100 x 45, lol theres 4,500 extra people at £25 per ticket, thats a lot of money coz of his rep, thats why he was so popular, he didnt give one, and wrote what ever the hell he wanted.

  • This was the crazy days the 90's the new line up is good aron is one of the best gutires out right now

  • I think theyre playing their last show with the current line up in Sweden in late november. Aaron's out after that :(

  • I don't want him to ever stop, these days were the best. He even admits that he had a blast.

  • If Vrenna, Lohner, and Finck would rejoin Trent for just 1 more tour.....I'd follow them all over the globe.

  • Best. Lineup. Ever.

  • well robin came back :D

  • Crazy performance with lots of energy! I wish Trent had released a live DVD from the Self-Destruct tour like he released AATCHB. BYIT sucks, though. I miss old guys. No wonder why the current line-up has never played this song.

  • no instead they play ruiner, heresy, last, mr self destruct. If only they were smart enough to call you up and ask for your setlist suggestions before each tour. what a fuckin tragedy

  • it probably has more to do with trent being middle aged and unable to scream SLAVERY like he could before. But I'm sure he'll try and fuck up his voice for the rest of the show if you ask real nice

  • That sounds about right. Trent has gotten older, and not only that, bulkier. He's a lot more bassy now. The songs We're in this Together Now and Last were taken down a whole key live so Trent would be able to sing them. Compare them to the album sometime, it's wicked.

  • yea, I can honestly say i appreciate both renditions of trent. I like the old screaming vocals, but i don't automatically dislike the new bass in his voice simply because of its difference. He still brings an incredible amount of energy and effort to the shows which is even more amazing considering his age. Someone on youtube remarked that they were never going to buy another NIN album b/c the shows are so much more wicked. I'll keep buying albums of course, but i see his point.

  • old skool Trenty. fucking awsome :)

  • wow trent haha

  • hell, that was the most chaotic song I've seen in a long ass time

  • I'm out of breath. I still try to assimilate. What a great and weird thing.

  • danm the quaility!

  • Man. That's as hard as it gets. I would love to see somebody send a link to more raw footage than this. Jesus.

  • I feel sorry for the keyboards on early NIN tours, they get destroyed.

  • I don't remember if I commented this video before, but if I did, I'll say it again, this is fucking phenomenal.

  • Final body count by my best estimates: 2 keyboards completely destroyed. One guitar killed. One guitarist molested, then put in a head lock. A drum kit that was banged to shit. Yeah, those were the good old days. Oh yeah, this was the 5th song of the set. They still had at least 11 more songs to go.

  • Diden't he chuck a mic too?

  • wow that was great to watch robin smash everything in his site.

  • They don't play this anymore because you can't fake the intensity in this song, or else the song will suck.

They played this song for 6 months on the first leg of the 'Self-Destruct' Tour before they took it off.

The NIN lineup wouldn't be able to play this.

Trent Reznor is 45 years old now. Do you want to see him acting like he's 20? It would be too fake.

As for the rest of the current NIN lineup? I think I saw them in this video, they were hiding in the corner of the arena.

  • ya i definetly couldn't see this live today... "HAPPINESS IN SLAVERY! HEY!

  • Just give Trent and....dare i say it Aaron North energy drinks. They'll go insane then.WOOOOOO!HYPERNESS!

  • Hyperpower!

  • YEY!

  • Why did they take it off the set aft er 6 months?

  • ay...es taaaan mono cuando se enfada.... jajajaja me parto

  • wow!

  • Kick ass!

  • Did robin just throw that whole keyboard at the crowd at the end?

  • haha i think he does :D

  • What is this like the 2nd time they played this live?

  • Yeah the Closure concert video was not high quality and the song selection was terrible. The only time, Piggy, and Something I can never have should have been rejected for better and more intense live songs like this one.

  • I disagree, I think piggy was a great choice. Have you seen the "piggy" from this toronto 1994 concert? It's pretty good. But I agree that they should have taken The Only Time and SICNH from Closure for this performance.

  • why this song is not played more is beyond me. this shits all over march of the pigs in terms of intensity. maybe its cuz trent is older, but the shows don't get that chaotic at all anymore...that was half the reason why people loved them so much.

  • Don't ever take this down. That's an order.

  • Yes sir.

  • It's a shame there's never going to be a high quality version of a Downward Spiral Era concert a la 'And All That Could Have Been' and "Beside You In Time'. If there was, it would have blown the both of them away.

  • aNimuS07 was it you who filmed this??

If it was im so envious of u!!!!!!

I saw NiN 2 nights ago in Brisbane at the Riverstage 7th May 2007. but it would hav been awesome to also see Trent in his wild days.. see the change in him.

  • I didn't film this, but I'm very thankful for whomever did.

  • Fucking awesome

  • love this song.....
