WHAT? What an ignoramus! Most of Europe is pretty close to straight-up atheist nowadays, esp. Scandinavia! And they're doing pretty well, all things considered. Japan is essentially 'atheist' in practice, and they're far from crumbling. They're still very traditional, pretty conservative, VERY competitive in areas like education, and they have an extremely low crime rate.
