Oh mu gosh, THANK YOU. My guitar playing was sounding all empty and buzzy, and I watched this, moved my hand and finger placement, and WOW now I sound great! I've been learning Green Day songs and they sound all hummy.. now they are better!
Thank you so much for this video. This is one of the best lessons I've ever had. I understand where I was going wrong with positioning my fingers. I've never been taught about only pressing hard enough to hit the fret. Awesome video! God Bless!
It sucks with the pinkie, when your missing 1/6 of it, and trying to learn how to play, and at my age I have enough problems with smaller hands already , but besides this the video did help
Personally I think it's a matter of what feels best to the guitar player when it comes to thumb placement, the reason I say this is because of the way Jimi Hendrix played and how his thumb over lapped the fret board to the D & G string, maybe it's just the style but if you ever look at some of the great players, their thumb hangs over the fret board...again this is why I say it's not "best" way or the "right" why to place your thumb, but what is comfortable to the player to play great music...
I am unable to properly place my hand/thumb on the guitar with out obstructing my view of the strings and frets. Is it me or is the guitar I have just to big? ;<
This guy is amazing. This has helped me sooooo much....I think allot of other people forget to explain this to beginers, which makes if harder for those of us who are just starting out.But this guy is really good.
His tips about where to place the thumb have helped me with my chords so well.
