  • The strings, wood, and didgeridoos are fine, but I think it still needs more cowbell!

  • I love this song so much

  • Dewey Cox!

  • This sounds like velvet pancakes

    mmmm

  • yea i didnt really think the song was that bad..at all.. esp the first half.

  • @iamvegito 20,000 of didgeridoos!

  • @madrebellion18 50,000*

  • It's awesome, and proof that fake overindulgence and a fake LSD song can truly be better than anything produced today.

  • This is not a good song. It like five songs on top of each other at the same time.

  • Metaphor = Secret

  • I actually put this movie right up there with Spinal Tap as the two best music spoof movies ever, and they both have great music too. This movie is growing stronger every day into legendary cult classic status.

  • crying, ohhhhhhhhhhh lmao!!

  • I actually really like this song who sings the beginning because I don't think it is John C Reily

  • @jlion31685 No it is! He sang all the songs

  • Fuck Cats

  • AN ARMY OF DIDGERIDOOS!

  • Hahaha Brian Wilson!!!

  • We just need more didgeridoos! 50,000 didgeridoos!!

  • you guys are idiots. this song is very deep

  • No, guys, the strings were not tangy!

    They were salty!

  • this tune is incredible...

  • Did Van Dyke Parks write this?

  • @Karateworm yes

  • Kind of a Rutles for Beach Boys fans.

    "Mike,you're flatting"

I wonder how many people who saw the film got that reference.

  • @FourMilesToRome

Can you enlighten me? I don't.

  • @ObiOneGinobili Certainly. The original session reels of The Beach Boys recording their various albums in the 60's were bootlegged in the 1990's and one particularly famous bit is a tape of the vocal overdub session for 'Help Me Rhonda' with Murray Wilson in the control room, drunk and belligerant. He constantly berates the group and two of the most quoted phrases from that tape are "Brian,I'm A genius too" and "Mike, you're flatting" (meaning he thinks Mike Love is not singing in tune).

  • @FourMilesToRome

Haha that is awesome! Thanks for the clarification ;) I had actually googled that sentence, to no avail.

  • @ObiOneGinobili No problem,my pleasure. Here is alink to a Youtube vid with the dialogue. It's annoying cause it has looped music dubbed on it but you'll hear the legendary phrase at the 0:58 mark.

  • @BuyBenco Nice One!Well done :) It's a really great Smile parody ,this,don't ya think.

  • @FourMilesToRome Yea man! He looks n acts just like brian! great scriptwriting n visuals to evoke pet sounds n smile sessions

  • When I saw this movie, I knew this had to be one of THE greatest musicals ever. Rock on DEWEY!

  • "Dewey"....?"are you sayin you dont need us anymore"?..........."not unless you can open your mind......and learn to play the fuckin thermin"hahahahaha i didnt know what a thermin was till i googled it and started roaring when i saw it.

  • @disneyfannrkrb Because Mike played it after Brian went crazy!

  • @BuyBenco did not know that

  • "I need like 10,000 didgeridoos".

  • @jayjayjigsby2 an army of didgeridoos!!!!

  • it sounds like velvet pancakes

  • 1 person is a whitesheep :s

  • @Scribby87 and it's mike love.

  • @dave8594 I don't think DEWEY even knew the guitar chords for this.

  • "crying, uuuuuuhhh..."

  • This movie is so underrated.

  • @DejectedPanda it definitely is

  • @pickupsticks1992 certainly.

  • Us Beach Boys and Van Dyke Parks fans had a field day watching this movie.

  • @DonZabu And Beatles fans, too

  • BushMen Making It Sound Like your in the Fucking Bush

  • Needs more didgeridoos! An army of 100,000 didgeridoos!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I miss the part with the GONG! Where is it?

  • @furakkueroru it's a therimin.

  • This song is actually a good song!

  • This song is not really by Dewey Cox but is actually composed by Van Dyke Parks for the movie. Try listen to his music if you like this.

  • song is very addicting

  • i love the natives yelling " chumba wumba " lol

  • I'm pretty sure this is supposed to be Brian Wilson. Dewey Cox goes through phases and becomes Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, etc. Brian Wilson for sure

  • @amused2deathh Exactly; this is supposed to be like when Brian Wilson was workin' on his "Smile" album for years; then he went nuts and had a nervous breakdown, and put it on hold for decades. He just released it a few years ago; and my brother has it. It's pretty good..............DEFINITELY different..............but good.

  • Not unless you can open your minds... and learn to play the fucking theremin

  • Such great music in this movie---all those rotten spoof movies of the last decade pretty much killed any chance this film deserved.

  • the heroes the heroes the heroes and villians

  • Dit dit dit, heroes and villains... dit dit dit, heroes and villains...

  • BAAAAAA

  • Alongside "Piggy In The Middle" by the Rutles, and Nigel Planer's version of "Hole In My Shoe",an on-target parody of psychedelic/orchestral/grossly overblown,full-of-itself art rock of the late 60's!

  • I agree! :-) Appropriately enough, this *was* written by the guy who wrote "Heroes and Villains"...

  • Awesome job on the vid bro.

Love this movie, never heard the intro of this song so long, it's great.

  • Yeah, the first part of the song is only heard in the director's cut of the movie. The scene about this song is *much* longer in that one.

  • There's awesome music in Walk Hard. Gotta buy the soundtrack someday =)
