I just saw this show last night in L.A. and LOVED IT!!!. The only weak moment of the show was the way they staged the scene when the dragon eats Lord Farquaad. They shined a silhoutte of the dragon on the window backdrop, the lights flashed, and Farquaad was gone in a puff of smoke. Then one of the characters makes a coment like, "The dragon ate Lord Farquaad!" (because if you hadn't seen the movie you wouldn't have even been able to tell what just happened. Was this the original staging?

Knees, no. Back, yes.

His knees are padded VERY well so he can barely feel a thing. His back does give him problems though, so he does about half an hour of yoga, pilates and stretching before each show in addition to other warm-ups.

But you gotta admit, for all the hard work, it looks like he's actually having a lot of fun onstage.
