  • fisher price made some cool shit

  • We used to have one of these!!

  • HABS table For The Win!!

  • When I was younger I would sit and play with this for hours. Great toy.

  • My Favorite Records Are Edelweiss And London Bridge

  • I was born in 69 and had I think the 71 model. One of my favorite childhood toys. I loved the record colors I recall and played it all the time. I was just telling my wife about this yesterday and here it is on YT :)

  • My 1st grade teacher has that

  • So Beautifull

  • jajaja esta achido XD

  • I still have one of these in good condition / perfect working order with all the records - even though i threw it's records about the garden like frisbies, picked it up by the yellow playing arm and threw it across the room, and wound the mechanism with all my strength. It was still good to go for my nephew and niece over the past decade, but truly remarkable for a toy to survive *me* in the 1970s

  • I just pulled this out of my mums attic for my little girl and she loves it just as much as I did 36 years ago, timeless!!!

  • Oh yeah, this brings back memories! Used to have one as a kid.

  • This is classic; throwback indeed. I had one back in the day too; I use to love it. Ahh memories.

  • They should have called this thing Fisher Priceless!

  • Wow I remember having this in my bedroom as a kid, but I eventually took it apart because I was curious about what it looked like inside and how it worked. Back then I often wrecked toys I owned that talked or made sounds by doing that! My poor parents had to hide all the screwdrivers but I found a butter knife worked almost as well. :)

  • try juggle with it! XD

  • What a nice "London Bridge" Song! :D

And of course... played on the Fisher Price Record Player!

  • I had this one, once upon a time. Ah memories

  • Fisher Price sure were innovative for their time.

  • I used to have one of these when i was little. I had to get rid of it because i've outgrown it.

  • @spongebob040, should have kept it, childhood memories!, i am looking for this for a long time, i still have the red and blue ball with yellow shapes, and the arrow pointer see and say toy and the fisher price airport. i still have it!

  • london bridge

  • humpty dumpty was my favourite record

  • This toy was a form of digital player in which the tone arm carries the tuned blades tnat play the melody. My only question is this: "Why the music box manufacturers recorded in those device soo very sad melodies (for me). "Twinkle, twinkle litle star" was an exception.

  • Why don't you put a 7" single on it? Heh. :3

  • I had one of those when I was 4 years old. I would always try to lift the "tone arm" as far as I could make it go and pluck the little metal strips.

  • OMG!!! I HAD THAT!!!!

  • Ha! My cousins had one of those!

  • We had one of those.

  • I love it ... not even sure I'd call it a toy, its a musical instrument!!

just dug mine back out and unfortunately its playing slowly ... could be dust, but suspect that after 34 years the spring has lived its useful life :(. Will definitely replace it if so.

Were more pieces of music available? loved the disks and the way they are double sided, love the colours. Still as valid today as ever.

  • I LOVED THIS! The Vermont Country Store carries all discontinued Fisher Price toys from the 60's and 70's. Check out their actual store in Vermont or go online to their website. Amazingly cheap prices!

  • I had very fisher-price music box.. the record player. the tv, the pocket "radio' and clock. I think we gave them to our little cousins when they were small.. now I think my nieces have them now.

  • Fisher price also made a REAL record player

  • the one at Target isn't quite the same. It works differently, and actually uses a little speaker and batteries. A drag!

  • can I play bo diddley on this?

  • They are selling the at Target now.

  • They sell them at Target now.

  • i had this, the piano, and another 2 or 3 times its size, and a few others. my friend from preschool (don't remember the name) had the vacume cleaner, and a fire truck. you just made me nostalgia all over myself. i don't remember what company it was, (this or playskool,) but my preschool teacher had a cool sorting toy that played 4-5 songs when you sort the shapes in the right places. damn! now i feel 4 all over! now, where are my little pajama pants with the footsies?

  • HOLY SHIT! You found my record player! I been looking for that thing for 35 years!

  • Pretty much my favourite toy of all time!

  • Duuuuuuuuuude! I grew up with this! :D Me and my siblings used this thing ALOT! ^.^ It was spiffy! :D

  • I had one of these when i was a baby, but quickly "out grew it and wanted THE REAL THING!!!

  • Oh Emm Gee!!! Brings back so many memories!!!!

  • toys were awsome back then what happened?

  • These units work very well as DJ units. I slam out the mixes with two of these at the club. The metallic pinging gets everyone on their feet. No one can stop us from jamming "London Bridge" Good stuff.

  • I still have mine!!!

  • @WayOfBehaving target sells them. :-)

  • @adryan108

oooOOOOOOooooooo!!!! I saw they had a BUNCH of toys from when I was a child there. I'll have to go back. YAY!

  • Go habs!!

  • My niece had one of those when she was little, it had six records I think, I remember that, Clair De Lune, One Of These Things Is Not Like The Other, and one that the girl from The Bad Seed was playing when she set the man on fire.

  • yepi had that also

  • It works very much like the old disk music boxes, except that the disks are plastic and the chimes are in the movable head.

  • Ah, nostalgia.

  • I miss childhood

  • I would love to see Master Of Puppets on one of these things.

  • It was every child's favourite?... more like nightmare i would say.

  • lol i thought that it said fresh prince record player

  • It's just the thing for the budding DJ! *jingle jangle jing-jing-jing-jangle*!

  • My sister had one of these when she was little.

  • I have one in my room, is it valuable?

  • I had one of those when I was very young, they were all the rage

  • I had one just like that!!!!!! I miss the memories.

    Thanks

  • this thing was the best ever

  • does it work with serato???

  • I had one of these too!!! It was my fav!

  • I had one of these when I like was 3 or 4 and when I turned 12 I found it my Grandmother's basement so I donated to the hospital in Red Deer, Alberta.

  • Not sure whether or not the stylus is bit "heavyweight" for my Genesis LP`s!

  • My sister and I had one when we were young and I would always leave it playing when I go to bed... one of my favorite toys!

  • Its been a long time since I've seen this toy! LOL, recently I've been looking for old toys like this and I can't seem to track down one certain toy train that used records like these to play. It wasn't the Tomy melody or the Thomas the tank engine one, I just can't remember the name. I just remember that you had to place the records in the back of the engine.

  • I remember this...I had one too!! Man I'm old.

  • Sounz like an ice cream van

Sorry i used this in one of my vids

  • I couldn't listen to this. I remember being little and we would go to visit my great-grandma in the summer and my sisters would always play with this. I however found it to be very annoying and couldn't be in the same room with it. It was more of me plugging my ears whenever I heard the music.

  • I had one of these ON THE LIST OF BEST TOYS EVER...

  • try DJing on it!

  • how could you dj on it

  • @yayyayyay09 I had one when I was a kid. I wanted to see if I could speed it up by pushing on it and well, it broke something inside and didn't work after that. So yeah, DJing it does not work.

  • @Elmware I did that a lot with mine too - occasionally the 'plinkers' got misaligned but it somehow survived me and i still have it in perfect working order to this day. Also the records made good frisbies.

  • i fucking love it

  • My mom told me that when I was only 5 moths old, she was bringing me into sleep with this songs : Au clair de la lune;

twinkle twinkle little star, London bridge, oh where has my little dog gone, humpty dumpty, jack and jill, children's marching song andcaomtown races.

  • I remember this. :P They should bring them out again.

  • Still got this. Worth any money?

  • My God it must be 25 years.

  • YES! Great post

  • I used to have a toy like that a long time ago.

  • Can You Scrach with it?

  • lol ☺

  • hey does some one knows where can i buy the records only !!???

  • Try ebay.

  • Actually this is a music box shaped like a record player. Still a nifty device.

  • i got this upstairs in my loft lol

  • I had one of those

  • that is just sooooo cute

  • We had one of these in my church's nursery for the longest time. I don't think it ever really worked, though.

  • omg, i had one of these when i was 4! it was my favorite toy ever.

  • WHY?????

  • I used to have this.

  • I remember having one as a kid, I remember it breaking and I tried disassembling it to fix it, didn't get too far, oh the memories

  • Mine from the early 80's still works, I just gave it to my 7 month old son and he loves it.

  • Woah... I used to have one of these as a kid! I love these things. I don't know what became of the one I had, though...

  • Ce lo avevo anch'iiioooooo!

  • I still have mine in the basement at my mom's house in perfect working condition. I play with it whenever I go home and pull out all the Fisher Price Little People and their camper set. Might be time for another trip home :)

  • That thing is EVIL I played it backwards and it said "Satan is my Savior"

  • that can make you wanna sleep

  • I LOVED it...my cousins had one, but I never had one. I ended up getting a close'n play!!!! :-) But, I'd still like to have had one of those...and I'm about to be 43!

  • omg! i still have mine but its broken! i desperately want to get it fixed but have no idea where to take it

  • They repair old Fisher Price toys, as well as sell them.

  • omg! I used to have this when I was a kid too! awesome!! :D

  • it was this very piece of kit that made me wanna get into music and be a dj.

  • omg i had the same exact one when i was a kid

  • Raitives of mine had something like this, except the one they had was a merry go round, which you had to hand crank to keep it going, I loved it when I was 6 years old, I wonder if they still have it.

  • I wish I still had mine. :-(

  • I still have mine with all the records. My 16 month old daughter loves it! :)

  • that thing was scary

  • I actually have one of these.Just got it today from my Aunt, still works perfectly fine and has all 5 Records.

  • Wow... that instantly took me back to being four years old. I loved my record player so much. It was my favorite. I would collect roly-polies and put them in the little space you would store the records in and play music for them. Thank you for posting that. I actually teared up a little. :)

  • Its possessed :/

  • how come? -.-

  • Had this when I was little! Thanks

  • I totally has this. wow the memories!!!!

  • scratch or spin it!

  • Still have mine at my parents' house after 35+ years. I loved that thing!

  • Mine is still in my folks basement. I think we're missing only one record

  • I had one of these. I think it was a hand-me-down from my older brother. It never worked as far as I can remember. It was all busted and no records. But a friend of mine recently called me over to her parents' house and said they were clearing out the attic and that there was some stuff I might be interested in. Sure enough, there was one of these in beautiful condition with all the disks...and it was going to the curb! It now sits on display next to my real turntable.

  • I had this one except the disc plays below the merry go round and you have to manually turn for it to play and to turn the carousel around.

  • We had one as kids and my mom never got rid of it. At least a dozen grandkids have now enjoyed it!

  • i and my husband remember those wow they should bring them back for our kids.

  • @rhthth

I think you mean "My husband and I remember those", not "I and My Husband remember those"... because that's pretty poor and incorrect grammer to use by saying that, in case you've forgotten.

  • @finnishminnow The word 'grammar' is not spelt with an 'er', you have also used speech marks incorrectly instead of quotation marks. If you're going to critique others, then it might pay to proofread your comments.

  • Oh, I SEE! BTW... I (all unbeknownst) mistakenly messed up on spelling 'Grammar' by putting 'er' when I meant to put 'ar' in that word.

Plus... what I said while telling and reminding 'ryhthth' had a simpler meaning BECAUSE... due to the mistake she made by saying "I and my husband remember those" instead of "My husband and I remember those", had actually meant the fact of which it's not proper to say "I and My Husband" or stuff like that in sentences (for the following reasons).

  • I use to love mine! It was in good condition even as a teenager....wish I still had it!

  • I bought one of these at a yard sale for my kids! 'cause I had one when I was youmg too !- They really like it- yours is in much better condition..

I have three different records for ours, and they have their own recordplayer so they can't ruin mom's!

  • OMG

I used to have one of those

but I dont know what happened to it )=

  • I still have mine and it still works!!! What a classic toy. My mom made sure I took really good care of my toys.

  • I remembered that when I was a kid

  • I remember playing with this toy when I was very little.

  • OH SHIT! I was seriously thinking about the one I had when I was like 4, along with my C64!

  • :( I was dreaming about mine last week.

I wanted to listen to it again, but my mum just told me that she threw it away.

Mine had painting of little kiddies on them instead of those flowers (:

    I want it back :'( !

  • you can get them on ebay, I´ve seen a few there..

    I want mine back too!

  • They made these almost unchanged for YEARS from the 1970's to the 90's, I don't think they are made anymore. It would not be too hard the make your own record on one of these...

  • they started making toy cd players at sometime in the 1990s to replace these.

  • sweet. I loved mine!

  • I had one of those new in the early 90's

  • I've owned 2 or 3 of these. They still turn up in thrift stores from time to time.

  • Oh yeah I remember these things i played with them when i was little, I know exactly how they work too

  • I remember this as a kid, brings a tear to my eye!

  • yo i remember those from kindergarten but it was a different style

  • I had that when I was little

  • Whre did you find This???? That was cool. We had one in pre school. I have the one that played real records!!!! Bob
