The judgement is your punishment, so in essence, you're trying to say that something that actually is the same thing means two different things. Being punished for a sin by a judgement of God is in fact judgement. It's not different as you say. God has reasons to judge also, the Ten Commandments.

Great video, as always, but I do think in this case you haven't interpreted that particular passage charitably enough. Jesus was speaking metaphorically. He was saying pay attention to your own internal bad thoughts, for those lead to bad behaviour. I think that's good advice whether or not you're religious.
I believe various passages in the Bible were usually written in hyperbole statement as Jesus intended to bring such urgency to resolve issues at any cost. Unfortunately, such desperate and urgent messages I believe must've been misconstrued over the centuries and one wonders why fundies have become dangerous.

Jesus WASN'T a perfect little robot, his last words were 'God, why have you forsaken me?' And that's why we don't legislate on religious, even most Christians agree on that. I personally read the Bible like a really old textbook, knowing that taking bible verses and throwing them around is literally taking them out of context, and knowing that not everything is accurate, that people have progressed since that time period.

Your video is funny-even to a christian, but it is in error. The only unforgivable sin in the bible is 'the pushing away of the Holy Spirit.' You can blaspheme Jesus and God all you want, it says so in the bible and even sin (in romans) won't keep you from salvation, only feeling The holy spirit inside of you beckoning you and pushing it away. I've noticed not very many atheists speak of the Spirit.

Not officialy, there wasn't. Historically, religion has always forced itself (even with brutal force) down the throats of non believing peoples until it looked smooth and sponteneously chosen a couple of generations later. But tjhe battle I'm talking about is the constant fear of terrorist attacks, the creationist backturn recently taken by public schools, the return of religious law, and the overwhelming number of new converts. As for converts, Islam may be growing, but Christianity is shrinking and Atheism, or Irreligion, is also growing and some research suggests is growing much quicker than any other. I think the reason Islam is rising so fast is because their average household has around 6 children, but the rest of the world could always out fuck them if we really wanted.

It has like crazy things about religion, occultism, and meditation and things you can do active. But some theories are a bit to crazy like the Human history lesson 12 but its just really worth to look at and very inspiring too

Evolution is one of the most indisputable things known to Science. There is absolute boatloads of corroborative evidence to support it.
And how do you know god said your last line. I would argue it was likely made up by some Theologan sometime within the last few hundreds or thousands of years.

@ikawpipa Actually, no... The methodology used in science in general (and by extension the Theory of Evolution) is independently verifiable. You can run the experimentation yourself and confirm the findings.
In fact for it to be accepted as a scientific theory, it's already undergone extreme amounts of experimentation and falsification and been accepted by the scientific community. You have the freedom to confirm those findings for yourself too.. Faith doesn't enter into the picture.

You agree small variances can happen, and it is true the animal generation to generation will be extremely similar. However, if you have thousands of small changes over the span of hundreds of thousands or millions of years, the end result will be far different than what you started out with. That is evolution.
@ikawpipa And nothing is taken on faith or imagination. As I stated earlier, all of the experimentation that went into testing Evolution is readily available, and you can test the results for yourself. Faith does not enter into the equation. It's provable.
The funny thing is, the only reason you disagree with evolution outside of ignorance, is because a book of mythology written in the bronze and iron ages has a disproven creation story that doesn't line up with reality. It's sad.

@flanagansreach Thanks, indeed I am a MANOWAR fan. I see what you mean. And it looks like it makes sense, however, that's because of the words used. To judge means to deliver punishment. The judgement is your punishment, so in essence, you're trying to say that something that actually is the same thing means two different things. Being punished for a sin by a judgement of God is in fact judgement. It's not different as you say. God has reasons to judge also, the Ten Commandments.

Great video, as always, but I do think in this case you haven't interpreted that particular passage charitably enough. Jesus was speaking metaphorically. He was saying pay attention to your own internal bad thoughts, for those lead to bad behaviour. I think that's good advice whether or not you're religious.

I personally read the Bible like a really old textbook, knowing that taking bible verses and throwing them around is literally taking them out of context, and knowing that not everything is accurate, that people have progressed since that time period.

Not officialy, there wasn't. Historically, religion has always forced itself (even with brutal force) down the throats of non believing peoples until it looked smooth and sponteneously chosen a couple of generations later. But tjhe battle I'm talking about is the constant fear of terrorist attacks, the creationist backturn recently taken by public schools, the return of religious law, and the overwhelming number of new converts. As for converts, Islam may be growing, but Christianity is shrinking and Atheism, or Irreligion, is also growing and some research suggests is growing much quicker than any other. @ikawpipa use your "most scientists are atheists" analogy all you want. most protesters against weapons of mass destruction are atheist. most people for wars, or the enlargement of the army, are christian. and the world's deadliest weapons and wars have always been used and started by the religious. and most scientists are atheists because atheists have a more decent grasp of science. you like using the bombs, but your fucked if your asked to make 'em.

@ikawpipa Actually... I didn't reinforce anything about biblical divinity. I'm kinda puzzled how you came to that conclusion. The argument was that Hitler was an Atheist, and I simply showed that he in fact was not.
And you have no evidence to back up what you just said. How do you know Heaven exists, that it's impossible for people to enter, and that Jesus existed and has no sin? For that matter, how do you know sin exists?
Please show your proof and I'll listen.

@ikawpipa From the sounds of it, you have no understanding of Science or Evolution. If you did, you would no there is no such thing is "Macro" or "Micro" Evolution. Evolution is one of the most indisputable things known to Science. There is absolute boatloads of corroborative evidence to support it.
And how do you know god said your last line. I would argue it was likely made up by some Theologan sometime within the last few hundreds or thousands of years.

@ikawpipa Actually, no... The methodology used in science in general (and by extension the Theory of Evolution) is independently verifiable. You can run the experimentation yourself and confirm the findings.
In fact for it to be accepted as a scientific theory, it's already undergone extreme amounts of experimentation and falsification and been accepted by the scientific community. You have the freedom to confirm those findings for yourself too.. Faith doesn't enter into the picture.

@ikawpipa If you understood evolution, you would understand that dogs do not produce non-dogs. Evolution is a very slow, very gradual change.
You agree small variances can happen, and it is true the animal generation to generation will be extremely similar. However, if you have thousands of small changes over the span of hundreds of thousands or millions of years, the end result will be far different than what you started out with. That is evolution.

@ikawpipa And nothing is taken on faith or imagination. As I stated earlier, all of the experimentation that went into testing Evolution is readily available, and you can test the results for yourself. Faith does not enter into the equation. It's provable.
The funny thing is, the only reason you disagree with evolution outside of ignorance, is because a book of mythology written in the bronze and iron ages has a disproven creation story that doesn't line up with reality. It's sad.
