yeah the driver is in a ls1 camaro good ear, i was driving the saturn, i was leaving it in drive, i could have probably won almost all of those if i was shifting and espically from a dead stop
this vid cant be right. that saturn might be puttin down 130hp. where that tbird is putting down 150hp and 215 torque.
idk tho when i first got my 97 tbird it was pretty sluggish for awhile, i had to get the fuel injection cleaned out and put some miles on it to get the thing running good.
@zo0yoRk69 Umm... weight? The Thunderbird weighs like 900 pounds more than the Saturn witch more than kills any extra power it has. Plus the Saturn could be a 5 speed manual the TBird is a 4 speed auto. The lighter car with a manual is going to take off the line faster but they were closer up to speed so it all seems right to me.
@MN12BIRD Actually V6 thunderbird's are much much faster than any piece of shit saturn.
The only way one can lose a race to such trash using a TBird is if they're a massive faggot sucking dicks and "Admiring" the ass of the other cars, or some bitch uses NoS and other illegal modifications.
@kawaiifreak860 No They aren't. First off I've owned like 4 TBirds and I'm not a Saturn fan. So I'm speaking from FACT, not out of my ass. Not including the supercharged V6 Thunderbird SC the base 3.8L V6 had 140 HP and the car is heavy. V6 Tbirds are good for mid 16 second quarter mile times at the best. They are slow. So you think a Saturn ION Redline would be "much much" slower? They would EASILY beat a 4.6L V8 Thunderbird let alone a base V6! It wouldn't even be close to argue.
@kawaiifreak860 Yeah okay I'm the stupid one. LOL wow defensive much? You're the one who was saying these cars are much much faster than any Saturn. You said it, not me. Now you're saying the regular V6 isn't for racing. Well duhh what do you think this is? Yes... it's a regular V6 and it's slow hence the slow Saturn has a chance. They're both equally slow cars. I don't know why you're so angry at me. I'm just pointing out they're both equally slow cars. Gesh man just relax.
@MN12BIRD I never said they were first, it's just my style of car, plus I can use them to show a teacher if PROPERLY taken care of by the owner (And not some expensive auto industry you pay 1,000 just for a tire change.) a car can last well over 5-10years.
@kawaiifreak860 My style of car too I love the way they look, they're comfortable, relatively cheap on insurance and really cheap to pickup these days. There are a few '96 4.6L LX's for sale around here for dirt cheap and they look to be in good condition. I picked my last one (91 LX, low miles, great shape for its age) up for $1,300 and it's still going strong 4 years later! I haven't touched anything under the hood since I bought it. I've had a '95 4.6L that was good other than trans.
I'd of course make sure to do regular oil checks, break tests, so on so forth as well as regular maintenance (Checking the oil every two days, not forgetting gas, or anti-freeze and coolant.)
@MN12BIRD FYI I saw one in the same condition as it was in 96' but with a new paint job, and the "Retard" removed the bumpers and tried to put them on his van, they weren't EVEN the right shape for his van XD but anyway he was selling it for $599.99 if I had a job and or the money I'd go for it but I don't so. XD
@kawaiifreak860 .....i don't know where you are but im in arkansas and nos is perfectly legal i have a base 2000 saturn with a 124hp dohc i4 and a 96 t-bird with the base v6 dynod at 168hp(i,ve had it bored out got high-lift racing cams and nos on the t-bird(my dads idea))my saturn is much faster even if it has no guts bellow 3k rpms if you know how to drive(stay within the power-band (3k-7k saturn)(2500-5300 for MY t-bird)both can get mid to low 15s in a Q
The Saturn is a girl car! WTF i dont care if it has 750 HP, The only way to fix those pieces of plastic is to pull the pin and roll it under the car! T-BIRD is PIMP!
lol its all good. i was actually kind of shocked at that number but, the driver could of been right. If so then he must have a system or something in his car. my 02 weight 2213 w/ sound system and me. but i doubt it was 2600 when he was racing, Just would of killed his speed
it did. he just didn't have enough torque to keep pulling the way i was. i'm not saying i won by a lot, but the difference was noticeable. he had no system in his coupe...
i recommend the V8. it's much more lively than the 3.8, and it doesn't have as many reliability issues (head gaskets). the V6 has been a great car to me; it's been more than enough to teach me about dynamics of driving. but i recommend the V8 just so you don't get embarrased by some lesser cars.
almost everyone i've talked to about their first mod removes the air silencer. it's a big restrictive box inside the passenger side of the front bumper that slows down and quiets the air going into your engine; thats good for old ladies, but bad for someone looking for more power. it's pretty easy to make some form of cold air induction. i did it for my V6 for under $30. don't waste money on ebay crap. if you want to know how to do it, just shoot me a message or something
Ill check out the air silencer...im not an old lady so...i will probably put on a cold air intake and some other stuff but what would you recommend for exhaust...i want it to sound good but not so loud is annoying
There's no way the saturn was going to first couple runs. I've driven both cars, and those thunderbirds are slow as hell

you do know all car manufactures are making bumpers and corner panels out of plastic just like the saturn as a way of stopping dents. ???
