As much as I enjoy Lorraine's "on location" skits, I much prefer the ones without Carl. The skits like this where Lorraine seems simply like a bumbling, incompetent, annoying and difficult sort -- and she only references Carl, rather than having us see him on screen -- are more funny than the later episodes where Lorraine knowingly breaks the law (stealing from a tip jar, urinating in public, resisting arrest, etc). Yeah those episodes are definitely hilarious too but she's naively annoying here
