  • Love your hair!!!!!!!!!!

Mine is only two inches now & I'm 3 months natural.

  • do you still do this treatment? how harsh is the baking soda on your hair? a lot of sistas r into the pH content and baking soda is suppose to be a big no no....just wondering thanks for sharing

  • @dkblck1958 its been a few months since the last time but i still have no problems with it. i have a PH vid coming out soon but ive been using BS to wash my hair for months now (1 tbsp to 2c h2o) with no issues...i think ppl run into problems when they dont listen to their hair - it works for me - but the info on PH has helped me to further perfect the process

  • Oh my god! Your hair is so gorgeous! It looks very cute on you!

  • if you did it "exactly" like her then you would have co-washed before hand. second, your hair isn't going to come out exactly like hers because you different hair textures.

  • I agree with velveteye74. Beautiful!

  • I have never heard of the cherry lola protein treatment, what does it consist of and how do you apply it?

  • BEAUTIFUL!!! Simply beautiful. What do you do with the 3c hair? I have it too and right in the middle and top of my head. When my hair is wet it just hangs and does nothing. I can't get it to coil, b/c it is wavy. It is throwing off my look. What can I do?

  • i totally get it...sometimes it coils a bit but mostly it hangs wavy and responds to products differently, tangles more easily at times...

have you clarified lately? check my vid on that...sometimes residue can cause loss of definition...

but i could just be ur hair (the longer it gets the wavier it will prob become too) different products/techqs might be an option as well

  • omg!!! i finally found someone with hair like mine!!! Yay me!!!

  • How often do you recommend doing this? I can't wait to be natural to try it!

  • only tried it twice - havent since this vid but am thinking it might be time for a protein treatment...

how often, i think everyone has to judge for themselves, esp how your hair reacts to protein...for me i judge when i start to feel too fluffy

  • Do you a video with your hair i cornrows?

  • nope....i flat twisted the front once and that pics in 'april twistouts'

  • now that is cool

  • Great vid!

  • You have been blessed with a lot of hair. It is big, gorgeous, healthy, coily, curly and dense. I could use some of your hair in my thin spots for real.(lol)

    Peace & Abundant Blessings

  • BEAUTIFUL!

  • looks good...must try it one day :)

  • try adding it to your cond'r (cowash or as a leave-n) just adding by itself was kinda weird for me...trial and error girl, trial and error...lol

  • my friend and I agree that you sound like Janet Jackson when you speak

  • second that! i always thought that too!!!!!

  • your hair is soooo BEAUTIFUL! it really works! i'm going to try it now! C=

  • Cherry Lola's hair is different than yours or mine, though... not only is her texture a few grades under ours, but her hair really isn't as thick!

  • yeah her hair is totally different thats why i was curious to see what it would do for me...im surprised it did anything visually, but the feel of my hair was amazing!

im gonna try to do this every 2wks to see if it gets better but i wonder what would happen if i did 2 treatments back to back...but im scurred :)

  • Peace Cynthia!

I was EXCITED to see that you had a new video posted. I am not familiar with the Cherry Lola method and will have to do some research on this. I KNOW I keep saying this, but your hair is GORGEOUS girl! I am looking forward to my "curoils" (curls/coils) and springlets popping like yours. As the weeks go past they form more and more and now the top of my head is FINALLY working with me :o). I am looking forward to more videos as always. Take care Sistagirl!

    Peace & God Bless

  • your hair is amazing...very nice results!

  • Hair twin, do you have a fotki?? lol

  • LOL!! I've been asking the exact same question for a while!!! :-) I wanna add her to my friend list on Fotki. She's my fraternal (not identical) hair twin too!!! :-)

  • hi hair twins!! (identical and fraternal)

sorry no fotki...im doing good to keep up with the vids here :)

  • This really defined your curls! Looks gerat. I love the CherryLola Treatment, and now I even add a little baking soda to all of my deep conditioners. I think that I'll continue to do it every weekend that I don't henna. Anyhow, I'm glad that it worked out well on your hair.

  • was it foamy when you applied? i think the baking soda might be too much for my hair. i really feel it if that makes sense.

  • yup real foamy. the baking soda actually is responsible for the softness factor, the yogurt gives it kind of a stiff feeling, so its a delicate balance...if i dont use enough baking soda it gets really tightly coiled and not as soft

increase/decrease a tblspoon at a time for each trial until you get the right consistency

  • Wow......look at those curls PoP..POP..Pop!!!.....your hair is so beautiful....how do you normally wear it to work?...if you havent mentioned it already in another video...Peace*

  • usually puff variations or a slight fro-hawk

  • i like it!!

  • Beautiful! How does it compare to Aubrey's GPB?

  • never used it so idk

  • OMG your hair looks so good!!!!! I did the Cherry Lola treatment this weekend too! I used cholesterol deep conditioner instead of yogurt though. I applied using an old shampoo bottle so it didn't make a mess. It was okay smelling at first, but when I took it off in 3 hours it reeked like ammonia or a relaxer and I was SCARED! But it rinsed out okay and my hair felt super loose and soft. I think it make my hair softer and the coils looked better. I love the way your hair hangs, soooo cute!

  • 3 hours is a long time. i think its better to just do the treatment more often than leave it in for too long

wow relaxer smell?!? i would have developed full body hives! LOL

  • I took a nap and just left the stuff in. It was a really strong chemical smell. I think it was the baking soda. I can still smell it on me even though I did a cowash after. I don't think it loosened my curl pattern or if it did its barely noticible. i think I never really clarified my hair before I started using cowashes because my hair feels much cleaner and smoother now. I'm switching to baking soda for clarifying and I don't think I'll buy shampoo again!

  • yeah, leaving in too long and on not-so-clean hair could cause a reaction like that.

im loving the baking soda too...who knew?

probably gonna add a little to my cond'r in cowashes and see what happens - ive seen tutorials on that too with much success

  • Great results! I have done this treatment twice and love it. I add a little condish to my mix. The only other thing that has ever define my curls this much is bentonite clay!

  • Excellent!

  • You already know I tend to be a skeptic when it comes to curl definition on our hair type. As soon as I saw CherryLola's video I was like: "But she has a different hair texture!!" So I wasn't expecting much BUT I must say your results surprised me. So thank you for continuing to prove this skeptic wrong, lol.

I'm interested in hearing how your hair felt afterwards. I already do yogurt DCs but the amino acids may be the next step up. Also: How much gel did you use and how did you apply it?

  • i thought the same thing - thought i was gonna have to say "not for us 4b chics" but got way more than i expected!

afterwards my hair felt fine - actually it did not go into teeny tiny coil mode this time around.

i just gently smoothed and scrunched gel in mostly on the ends while still really wet but b4 i towel dried (squeezed)...about a quarter blop 2x per area - approx 8 areas

i will explain all the uses ive found for it in the next round of vids!!

  • Nice curl definition! I might have to try this method.

  • Wow you had really great results!

  • Your hair looks great.

Yogurt is a great deep conditioner.

  • Glad you are happy with your results! Your hair looks great--as it ALWAYS does!

I have also switched over to absolutely NO combing. I used to comb at least once a month--but now I'm trying something new to see how that goes. I only comb with my fingers in the shower. So far so good.....

  • wow! looks awesome..hmm something else to try soon! lol..thanks!

  • hi i have tried this and my major problem was getting the yogurt out. yes the curls looked great on me, but all the yogurt didnt come completely out. the next day it smelt so horrible. but yes it was really strange for me as well i felt like i had a different head of hair on my head. it made my hair so easy to detangle. but my question. how did you get it to rinse out fully???? i had to wash with shampoo like 4 or 5 times till it really was out. so that one fear it have about doing this again.

  • maybe bc i used my hand blender? it made the batch really smooth, no yogurt chunks :)

i use one of those long hand blenders with the blade on the end

be sure your hair is clean tho. if you have oils or product residue on the hair it could stick.

  • oh you are totally right! thanks for replying. i had oil in my hair before doing it. i had lots of oil lol. next time i will shampoo first. if i try it again. but yes i have to agree yogurt totally works and the baking soda i added that to bring the pH up and it really did make my hair easier to detangle, the combination is really good and really cheap lol.

  • i think no matter what your hair is soooo freaking gorgeous!!!..but wow i do see a difference especially your coils, they look a little bigger and looser and more defined..you should do a comparison photo thingy with the treatment and then your hair with your regular products.

  • i have hair like yours! the thick stuff! thank you so much for showing this method, your curls look beautiful and completely defined!

  • your hair is always beautiful. Sorry to hear that about the Hello Hydration. So hideous! I just now stopped using cones bc my hair would be dry & crunchy after exposure to sun & wind or mid-day. Hated that, once dry it was like this. Now I use Dr. Bronner's. Tea Tree Tingle Cond from Trader Joe's to detangle using the vent brush in teshonandfamily vid from walgreens & then Denman. Then TIGI Beadhead MM sealed w/ WGH Oil. Hair has moisture ALL Day.

  • your hair looks great! i can't wait for my hair to grow back
