@rockerztonight1- Shadow probably wasn't in Sonic Unleashed because fans were complaining more than ever about the support characters... this was during a strong time in Sonic's low point, and SEGA was trying to curtail to fan's demands. While Shadow and Knuckles WERE supposed to appear, SEGA dropped the idea. And Shadow did apear in later games.

the moral of this story is not to be who u are in the past no matter how bad or good u are. you should be who u are today and choice u make shows who you really are. Shadow has learned to be who he is today and throughout the future in the choices he make on his own and forget about his past, just "Throw It All Away".

Professor gerald was sopposed to make shadow, the ultimate life form, but he needed black doom, Everyone thought it would be a good idea until shadow started doing bad stuff, so they blamed Prof. Gerald and he said something else after that, how to basically kill everyone

@sonicdude456 While you were right about the first part, Gerald needed Black Doom, the reason the military came was because of the Gizoid (see Sonic Battle), after it destroyed a large part of the ARK. Project Shadow was also broken up when they found the Biolizard. Because the military ended his life's work and killed Maria (who was saving Shadow), Gerald went insane and installed the program which would launch the ARK into Earth.
